- Texas GirlReceived a call today from this number and they actually left a message. The young lady said that she was calling about some mortgage application I had made and for me to call her back. Well, that's not going to happen. I own my home and have no mortgage so there was no application for anything. I'm sure this is some sort of scam.
- Caller: Some mortgage

- Jane Doe| 1 replyDidn't get a call, but I DID get mail from "Response Needed/Final Notice/Complete and Return" (literally that's what it showed through the return address window!) and managed to (with the help of the flashlight on my phone) read the included return envelope inside without opening the (obvious) junk mail. Mail-back envelope was addressed to "Mortgage Protection Service, PO Box 619056, Roseville, CA 95661-9978" and when I googled the address I found some guy's blog post from 2012 (!) warning people about this (and giving an address in Burlington, NC as well: PO Box 9001, Burlington NC 27216-9925. The guy also gives this phone number as being for the "service center" (his quotes, not mine) at something called National Biweekly Administration (which apparently bills you twice but only pays your lender ONCE. Needless to say, I figured it was a crock even BEFORE looking up the address and phone #. And the (UN-opened mail is getting tossed back in the nice box outside the post office with "REFUSED -- RETURN TO SENDER" written on the envelope and all the bar codes crossed out or scribbled over as best as I could. So not ONLY are these bozos NOT seeing a dime of my money (our current home equity loan is through our LOCAL bank and payments are deducted directly from our checking account --and if we have to borrow from it, or want to pay extra, it's a simple matter of going online and transferring from one account to the other, no muss no fuss -- AND NO PMI INVOLVED!) but they have to pay the postage AGAIN.... Heh heh....
- Caller: n/a (but company is "Mortgage Protection Service"
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Jane Doe replies to Jane DoeMaybe I should call that 800 number and play them annoying music.... Wonder if I could actually find a real payphone anyplace anymore (because then it would just trace back to that number instead of to me....
