It's JC Pennys.  Let me know my order was ready for pick up.

This number called the office I'm a gatekeper for but hung up as soon as I answered. CID said JCPenney.

It's JC penny. They left the following message "“Hello this is a recorded message from JCPenney your JCP com order arrived on July 26 and is ready for pick up at your local JCPenney". It's legit. I ordered a shirt to be delivered to the stow.

I got an email confirmation about an order I made in the middle of the night from Penny's, this number was attached to it. I called them because this wasn't an order I made and was from a different state. They said that the order number is from an order placed 3 years ago on the same date.  The email gives you the option to cancel which sends you to a very convincing looking PayPal sight that says your blocked from using til you give your info which includes name address and credit card number. And right there is the scam part to it.

Legitimate call from JC Penny's.  I placed an order for "ship to store" delivery.  They left voice mail telling me it was ready for pickup.

Why did you look up the number when you apparently already know who called?

Just had something similar happen. . . got an email, (middle of the night), that said I had changed my email to something similar to my current account and to call to confirm it. I did not click on the link but I did check the number in the email which is why I am here.

I got an email from jcp.com telling me my account was locked due to unsuccessful attempt to gain access. I DON'T have a jc Penney account. The phone number on the email was -800-322-1189  -- however, they offered the opportunity to click on a link to change my password. Phishing scam. Using the JC Penney number to look authentic.

Keeper asking me personal information.

I received the exact same e-mail as Trish (above). I don't have a JC Penney account either. I am going to do delete the e-mail and do nothing else.

Got a strange email from JCPenney which said they put a stop on my account due to unauthorized attempts. I have not ordered anything in 10 years. Not usual font for JCPenney.  Gave a link or this number to call.

Received an email saying my account is locked due to a recent transaction---and to call this number.  I have not used a JCPenny card in over 5 years and am sure my account would be closed due to inactivity.  So I believe this is a scam to try to get more out of me and will ignore the email and will not call the number.   The email was from "e.jcpenny.com" so that seems strange also.

Thanks for reassuring me. I had that exact experience but I did call JCP and they were zero help and were not even interested that someone was using their info for fraud
