I also got a call from this number, but no one was on the line.  I don't know what the caller wanted.  I called back and got a legitimate company that said someone has been using their number to make fraudulent  calls.  I do not believe phone companies cannot stop "spoofing".  As it stands now, anyone can buy a device that allows using a stolen phone number to make fraudulent calls.  Radio Shack used to advertise the device.  I don't know where you can buy one today, but I'm sure they are available..

BEWARE OF UTILITY SCAMS.   Just got another call from this number and spoke to a man with a strong middle-eastern accent.  Told me he is with American Electric Power, a local power company that provides electricity to my area.  Said he was giving me a 25% discount on my electricity for the next 12 months.  I asked how much per KWH.  He said 1.75 cents.  I told him I didn't believe him.  My current rate is much higher and is competitive in the U.S.  When I told him he is a liar, a woman came on the line.  Also strong middle-eastern accent.  Asked her how much per KWH.  She said 1.75.  I asked if that is 25% lower than my current rate, and she hung up.  Apparently, they don't have their act together and got caught in their lies.  I assume they would eventually have asked for my account number, or some financial info so they can steal from me.
