- Norm| 1 replyJust received this call. Heard someone say hello then hang up. when I called back it went straight to a television/Internet/phone sales menu. Caller is blocked. Company is unknown. Remote system did not identify the business
- SameAs above. Got a call and it hung up
- deanoCalled and said S&N I believe. Accent too thick. Told them to take me off their list and added to reject list.
- SameThis happened to me too!
- Advice| 3 repliesHad this call today, they said they were with ATT and asked if I could completed a short survey to receive a $20 credit to my account. I said sure, after the survey they asked if I could verify some info so I did. They then stated I would receive a text and needed to read a six digit code back to them. The six digit code was a temp password to my ATT account I took them no and hung up. Changed my password and login ID and notified ATT. DO NOT answer and if you gave them the code you are probably now locked out of your account call ATT immediately.
- Christy| 1 replyMy husband and I both received this call on our cell phones at the same time. He answered, I did not. It was an alleged AT&T survey. After answering the 4 questions the heavily accented caller asked for the last 4 digits of my husband's SSN. When he refused the caller hung up. This is what I found by googling AT&T survey scam: http://scamscan.com/2013/08/08/att-mobile-phone-survey-scam/.
- Caller: Not AT&T
- Maria| 1 replyThey are working on Verizon customers now. Called Verizon and quickly changed all my passwords.
- Call type: Survey
- JJAnswered it thinking it may be insurance company since it was a toll free number. Couldn't understand what was said before it disconnected. Looked it up, and here you go.
- SherylGot a call today but didn't answer it
- Bill| 1 replyDo not give this guy any information. I fell for it too. He called my cell phone claiming to be an AT&T representative. I would get $20 off my bill if I took a short survey. I agreed and then he needed information to verify me(four last digits of ssn). I reluctantly gave it to him. 2 weeks later the real AT&T cut off my service I called them and was told I was a victim of fraud. Thankfully AT&T caught it and shut my phone down before any damage was done. They hooked me up with a new SIM card and said they would never call a customer and ask for their personal information. Never give out your ssn or passcode unless you call them.
- Caller: Claimed to be AT&T
- Call type: Survey
- AJ replies to BillI just became victim of the same scam. I quickly called AT&T and changed the passcode and also changed the web password. Too good to be true always applies :)
- ChelseaI just got a call from this number and did not answer, but I added notes and info on the Whitepages ID system for those who use it in hopes that they can be aware of the scam before answering. It's pretty obvious that an 800 number should not be preceded by a +. Sloppy number disguise.
- LisaGot a call from this number today. Didn't answer. Didn't respond based on comments here.
- KBThey called our cell phone twice today. We did not answer.
- PMCalled my cell at 10:52am. Did not answer, no message left. Blocked number based on comments here
- MWUnknown, did not answer, no message left. 10:32am 7/15/15
- VJReceived call from this same number- I was told about the $20 credit as well with ATT and asked to provide answers to a survey. And then questions about where I live, last 4 of SS# and email. Should have known as they did not have my correct last name and zip. He kept saying, if you'd like to speak to my manager to confirm what we are doing... He also had a strong accent.
Called AT&T as I did not have a good feeling about the call and they set up a security protection.- Caller: Claimed to be ATT
- Call type: Survey
- MandyWish I would of read these comments but I too gave out my security password and last 4 digits of my SSN -- I am a verizon wireless customer -- they knew my address, name and phone number so I thought it was legit and could get a $20 credit to my account... After thinking about it I too called verizon and was told they do not pay for survey's and to never give out information regarding your account. Hopefully they didn't access my account earlier but everything is changed now.... Stupid crooks......
- Caller: NOT Verizon Wireless
- Joyce replies to AdviceSame thing except thank God I never got to the 6 digit code part! Horrible people out there.
- Wiseone| 1 replyStill calling AT&T customers. Good thing I didn't interrupt my current call to answer their call. I did try to call them back, but got a recording that it was a number not available from my calling area. Tried to call back from land line and no company name but automated system to order internet, tv, home and cell service. Of the 3 options,, all of them resulted in a busy signal and disconnect.
