This is the Consumer Reports subscription department.  I ordered a subscription and this is the number that showed up on my bank statement.

There is a charge of $26.00 posted 1/16/2012 on my credit card by Consumer Reports. I have no knowledge of this transaction

Several hours prior to receiving this phone call I called Consumer Reports Customer Service about their subscription rate then I got at his phone call identify as Vaccine Study. They left no message.

I just received my VISA bill and there was a charge to "Consumerrep 800-333-0663 Ny Usa".  I had subscribed in the past and believed it was an accounting error on their part, but after reading all these reports I will take a different approach.

Just as most charities don't do their own telemarketing, most magazines don't chase down their customers to renew their subscriptions.

I have dealt with a few of these third party renewal telemarketers.  In general, they are an untrustworthy lot.  They may adamantly claim to be the magazine and not a third party.  One told me that my subscription was about to run out; in fact, I was prepaid years in advance.  They tell you the subscription price is about to skyrocket (not even credible when you consider the difficult situation of print journalism).  Their super duper best offer was dramatically worse than what I could obtain (without haggling) from the magazine itself.

If you wish to renew, call the magazine.  The number for their subscription department will be listed near the magazine's table of contents.  Do not do business with these third parties that cold call you.

Noticed a charge on my visa bill. Did a search and found this site. I had a one month plan about a year ago.

how did u guys get this charge reversed? I did not authorize this either.

I did not receive a phone call, that I know of, but when balancing my checking account there was a $20 charge from Cr Digital Memb 800-333-0663 NY USA posted. I would like to know how they got my account number to deduct money that I did not approve.

Woke up this morning with a $26.00 charge to me credit card ,I did not authorize, I signed up for a 1 year subscription for CR about a year ago. One Year, I have been getting notices asking me to renew to CR for a month or two now and I decided not to renew, So I did not send any back .Once you give them your card number who ever this reseller is your going to renew,I had to cancel my credit card and get a new one, Just plain crooks .
