Caller had a heavy foreign accent. He claimed he was calling from DirecTv.  He stated that within 24 hrs I would lose my service if I didn't follow his instructions.  He asked if I was watching tv.  I told him no, I'm at work. Then I told him I don't have a tv service, I use an antenna. He sounded disappointed. Haha. I was actually playing him, because he already called me yesterday from a different number. I checked with my provider and they said no one is supposed to be calling me, and they don't do 24 hour shut-offs. Yesterday he wanted me to hold the info key on my controller until the box i.d. # was displayed. Yesterday he asked how many boxes & tv's I have. I told him if you're my provider, you should already know that.  He hung up on me. I was informed by DirecTv that he was possibly trying to hack into my internet through my tv system (if I would have given him the info he wanted).  Beware of scammers!

I got a call from this number claiming to be from Spectrum, claiming to need to update software for my cable box. They claimed they would give me a $30/mo discount for the next 2 years. But first I needed to allow them to charge $230, which would be immediately credited to my Spectrum account.  Other numbers involved in this scam attempt were (747) 877-3901 and (231) 844-4688

Caller claimed to be from Spectrum.  She had an Asian accent.  She wanted to upgrade software.  I hung up twice; she called back both times wondering why I had hung up.  I told her I would call Spectrum myself, snd she then hung up.  I called Spectrum;  they had no notes of a call....total scam!
