Received call -- caller ID showed "Dish" with the above #.  Man with very foreign accent said he wanted to discuss my account.  I told him I don't discuss accounts over the phone and hung.  The # shown is almost identical to the real "Dish" network customer service # 1-800-333-3474.  I called Dish Network and reported.  Fake call.

A man with a very heavy accent insisted he had to upgrade my Dish network box or I would eventually lose all my channels. He is familiar enough with Dish Network to get you to the information screen to read off Model #'s, etc. After verifying my information home address and phone #, he said I needed to turn off my TVs so he could start the upgrade. While this upgrade was supposedly happening, he promised to get me a $40 per month discount on my bill, as well as give me free upgrades to the boxes, remotes, anything I wanted for free as long as I called him on the Loyalty #917-267-8938 and asked for Michael with badge #M15. He also stated his supervisor would be calling to verify my satisfaction. He then supposedly checked on the status of my upgrade while he expected me to get out my checkbook to give him my checking account information. When I mentioned this sounded like a scam and I didn't have a checking account, he promised me it wasn't a scam and that he could see my account information and that I did have a checking account. I told him I didn't have that account any more and he started getting flustered. With this being an obvious scam, I hung up on 'Michael'. I'm still waiting on his supervisor to call...not!
