I received a official looking letter telling me I had a traffic violation with a vehicle with Florida plates which I never had.

It asked for my credit card number.   When I called the above number listed on the form the person spoke very poor, accented English and said I had to send the info.  I told them I was going to turn it over to the Secretary of State and they then said they would correct it.   I wonder how many people are sending their credit card information to these scammers.  The letter came from "Violations Processing Center"  in Albany New York.  I have never in 78 years driven an automobile in the state of New York.
