This is the Discover credit card customer care center.

I didn't actually get a call from this number. I called this number to activate my Discover Credit Card. I just wanted to make sure it was a legitimate number since I gave very personal information over the phone.

I also called this number to activate my new Discover It card and somehow contacted someone who as offering me a $100. gift certificate for being a loyal Discover customer. After providing more info than I should of, I smelled a rat and told the Indian accented voice on the other end to scratch everything we had discussed. He then insisted that I would be liable for the program that I had agreed to purchase. I then threatened him with reporting this call to The Attorney Generals office and hung up on the call. I am watching my credit card accounts very carefully.
Be aware of these scam artists. I have alerted Discover.

This is the Discover number to call to activate a newly received Discover card.  It is taped to the front of the card and the automated voice does not ask any questions that would prompt anyone to be unnecessarily concerned about.

I called this number to activate my discover card.   It gave me the option to talk to an account manager or automated system.  I did the automated system and was asked no questions out of the ordinary.

Is this really discover credit card ?

I got a Discover card in the mail that I never applied for. This number was on the mailing. When I called to close the card they demanded my Social Security Number in order to close the account I never opened. I called another number I was confident was Discover. They never asked for my SSN, closed the account, and opened an investigation. Don’t activate accounts you did not apply for!
