Whether or not "this number is indeed Discover doesn't mean all calls from it are legitimate. Scammers spoof legitimate phone numbers all the time. Why are you even here? Do you often look up known phone numbers?

Discover. Call was real. I called discover back on a different line and info was correct.

And yet you looked up the phone number despite having no logical reason to do so. You already knew "call was real". Of course, just because it was for you doesn't mean it is for others since scammers spoof legitimate phone numbers all the time.

Predatory call. Do not give amy info. This is NOT the Discover Fraud Line. They will never call with automated service for faud check! I verified by calling number on back of card.

If the number was "Legit", why are you posting about it here?  This is a "too good to be true" story including the caution about what happens if you do not take the call.  Seems like a shill post to me.

Scammers using this number pretending to be Discover.  While Discover may use this number, this is clearly a scam call.

Got a message from the discover fraud line to call back. I did but my phone number came up as invalid and I couldn't access anything.  Called the Discover center. They said there were no concerns with my account  and nobody from Discover had contacted me. They also said that this number isn't from Discover card.
Some people on here said they only asked for the phone number when they called back. Considering that Discover has to verify the caller and account before they can give out any account information (that's the law) it's strange that you would be able to access your account just with a phone number................Discover customer service said it wasn't them that called or left a message and a code.

This number called.  I did not answer.  I had just placed an order with Discover.

Naturally, I was suspicious as others have been too.  I called back a number I trust and indeed found activity that required my review.  In this case, doubt and verify!  If you don't feel comfortable, call them back from and to a number that you trust!

I'm not sure why you felt that you had to look the number up after you allegedly knew who called you.  Also, I guess you are saying the every call from this number is genuine and that there is absolutely no possible way for the number to be spoofed to scam people?

I looked up the number before I knew who called me and looked here to see what others have reported.  I did not recognize the number displayed which is why I called a number that I did trust.  I don't see where I said that all calls from the number in this thread should be trusted either, rather, I said call from and to a number that you do trust, i.e., independently verify information that you do not necessarily trust.  You're usually more on the ball than this BigA-perhaps you misread my original post?

Received a call for my wife from 800-350-4577 saying a suspicious charge was made on her card.  She is out of town and she probably charged something but I can't get hold of her right now so it is pretty hard to determine if this is a legit call or not. If they freeze her account it isn't a big deal but she will have to handle it when she returns.  I suspect it is a spam call but have no way to verify it.

Call the number for Discover on the back of your card, or check the Discover website for info. Shills for a scam revolving around this number have been posting here.
