- SherriSame issue here. Stated they were with Wells Fargo. Just told them that what they were doing was illegal and to stop calling me as I had just talked to my Wells Fargo agent this morning.
- Caller: Wells Fargo (phish)
- Call type: Debt collector
- Me2Got a computer generated call saying the "cops" were coming to arrest me with four serious allegations. Looking for money I am sure...
- Caller: Atascadero, CA.
- Snack Attack replies to Krystal| 2 repliesHey Krystal. I just had this exact same thing happen to me. I didn’t see who left it, but got the same envelope with the same message, and same numbers at the bottom. Can you tell me what ever happened with you? Do they keep coming back? Did you find out who they were?
- B-Edwards replies to Snack AttackKrystal probably will not be back to respond - that post was a while ago. Based on the posts, I think you can assume this is NOT Wells Fargo, and this is either a phishing scam or some sort of advance fee scam. If this happened to me, I would be calling the cops. It sounds like someone casing your house, looking for cameras and such.
- Linda| 1 replyReceived a phone call from 800 357 6675 and the guy said his name was Mark Erickson says he was with Wells Fargo. He was a foreigner. He told me that I must send 977.00 because my home and property was nearing foreclosure, which is not true. Said I could only send Moneygram or Western Union. Wells Fargo confirmed that they never called me and my accounts are up to date
- Caller: Mark Erickson-Wells Fargo

- Simon Dog replies to BigA| 1 replyThis is a scam and most of what you say is true, but mortgages commonly maintain an ongoing escrow account into which the mortgagee pays as part of his/her monthly payment. These escrow funds are then used to pay the rent (property tax) on the property.
- BigA replies to Simon DogNot all mortgages come with an escrow account, but regardless, being behind on the escrow will not trigger a foreclosure as long as the principal and the interest payments are being made. Paying money to an escrow will not stop a foreclosure because of the aforementioned reason in that it has nothing to do with the principal and interest.
- Emma replies to LindaThis happened to me too and I almost was going to go into Walmart to send the money then I saw Wells Fargo right across and in my gut There was something wrong with conversation when I told him that I would rather go into Wells Fargo then he got very mad. I was relived that I didn’t send it thru western union.
- BethGot 2 calls from Don Robinson from Wells Fargo. They had ALL my info, telling me that I needed to pay them $1500 for a loan modification to stop foreclosure. I called Wells Fargo they told me that there was NO record of them calling me and that they would not ask for money for a loan modification. These people need to be stopped... They are so scary that if you are in any doubt they get everything..

- J in CTThis Mid eastern guy has been calling for a few days now. Claims to be from Wells Fargo. Starts threatening serious legal actions and forclosure if I don't call him back at his "Direct line". Smelled like a scam and here I find a bunch of others with the same experience from the same number.
Wonder when these scammers will figure out we have a thing called the internet that allows us to backtrack phone numbers like this?
