Are they asking you to ship or receive something.  This number seems to be tied to another 800 number.  The two phone numbers both share the same Fax # and the name John Sparks has been associated with both.  Not sure what's up.

My wife and I have a couple of businesses.  One of them sells digital imaging equipment and supplies.  Our business was approached via fax and email from a local business looking for a quote and delivery on printers and supplies for office use.  This all came in looking very legitimate with addresses , phone numbers and emails, etc.  Long story short, the client purchased a few items with credit cards that cleared and we shipped the product to one of his locations ( ended up being a self storage facility in Broomfield , CO. )

After several days, the new client contacted us and ordered a significant amount of laser printer supplies, which threw up some red flags in our system.  My wife started checking on several of the business locations and contacted our merchant card system to alert them of a possible fraud attempt.  Basically, the merchant account was useless in determining if the business was legitimate or that the previous cards were valid ( they still cleared them)  We then googled the second delivery address and found it to be at the storage facility.  Obviously, we called the Wadsworth Mini Storage facility in Broomfield, CO and spoke with a pretty sharp manager, Sarah Reimer, who after hearing what we were looking for, informed us that she had already been in contact with the Broomfield Police Department and she mentioned that there was an active investigation into the storage unit rental client.  Luckily, our merchandise was in the front office, being held for a DHL waybill to ship overseas and Sarah delayed the shipment on the advice of the local police detective.  We were able to recover valuable goods that could have been diverted , thus prevented by Sarah’s diligent work as the storage unit manager.

After discussing this with the Broomfield Police detective, Mike Svella, we learned that these operations were ongoing for some time and that the suspects were under investigation in many cities and states.  They were using stolen credit card information of US diplomatic agencies overseas and were gathering large amounts of goods in storage centers, eventually shipping them overseas.  The FBI is also working actively on these cases.  Storage unit managers should be on the lookout for these types of clients renting units and with this type of business operation.  This suspect is travelling overseas often and does all the work via phones, internet, email and faxes.  What appear to be local contacts forward into international crime rings diverting high tech merchandise out of the country, never to be traced.

Cannon IV received a request from these guys as well via E-mail.  They listed the 800 number in the E-mail.  We get about three requests a month for a 'quote.'  Sometimes I'll string the perps along for awhile, but most of the time I ignore it.  I did send the information I received in our latest request to the Broomfield, Colorado Police Department.  I doubt they'll be able to do anything because these scams are usually based overseas.  But, here's to hoping that these [***] get caught!

I run a storage facility in Wichita KS and they used our facility to ship with and then reversed the charges.  We're not out a lot but they probably scammed someone they shipped from.
