I think this is a Scam phone number. Do not give any information to them. They claimed to be Capitol One, got some information and then disconnected the call. When I called back, they wouldn't accept the call stating that I was out of their service area. Super Shady.

Called what I thought was Capital One, which is the 877 version of this number. My bad for misdialing. When you look up the 800 number, it says Capital One. They pretended to be Capital One and wanted to give me a $100 gift card. I NEVER fall for scams, but never say never because by the end of the call I had given them my personal info and debit card number as verification, and then when I asked for the guy's manager because he switched modes and tried to sell me some kind of Walmart service, he said he was the manager and didn't have a manager. I said, Capital One managers don't have bosses? And he answered this isn't Capital One. My heart sunk like a rock in the pit of my stomach. I called him a fraud and a scammer and he hung up on me. I then called Capital One and canceled my debit card. Do not be me. Do not talk to these people.

I wish this number would be shut down. I thought 800 and 877 were interchangeable and mistakenly believed I was calling Capital One. They are definitely scammers using this number to take personal information. Now I have all my accounts on high alert and have reported them to law enforcement. This needs to be shut down!

Seriously?  Why would you even think that?  Are you trying to say that area code XXX is the same as area code YYY even though they are different?

Same thing happened to me.  They had me listen to a bunch of ads, got my credit card number with expiration and the 3 digits on the back. Calling Capital One now to report fraud.  I also mistakenly dialled 800 instead of 877.

I thought I was calling to make a pymt to CapitalOne. Asked me about Walmart deal. Went on and on about it and then hung up on me. Now they have my banking info. How do these scammers keep getting away with this.

They get away with it because people like you keep giving them the info. Hopefully you have at least informed the Bank of your mistake and they can shut down your account. Most of these type scammers are from another Country and without victim testimony in Court in their Country (if caught), they wind up getting let go.

This is NOT Capital One. This is a scammer! Make sure you dial 877 not 800. They claimed to want to "give all customers a $125.00 gift card in recognition of Thanksgiving week". They just wanted $3.95 to cover shipping of the card. We immediately hung up.
