Caller identified herself as Cindy Parker and that she had tried to contact me multiple times about my "case file".  She said I was to call her or have my attorney call her back at 1-800-390-1442.  I assumed it was some sort of scam since I don't have any legal issues, but called to investigate.  The woman who answered identified herself as Ms. Harris.  Because I asked, she repeated the name of the company multiple times, each time too fast for me to understand clearly.  She accused me of playing twenty questions and asked why I was calling.  I explained that Cindy Parker had called, whom Ms. Harris was familiar with and was willing to transfer me to, once I supplied her with my information.  I told her that since they had contacted me multiple times regarding a legal matter, my information should be readily available and that I would not need to provide it.  Ms. Harris hung up on me.

Caller identified as Ms. Berry left a message my 8 year old child that my attorney or I must either call her immediately or face legal action.  When I returned the call I said I wanted to issue a complaint to Ms. Barry's superior.  The answerer hung up on me.

I too had a terrible experience with this company and the doctors group that referred my acct to them. Once I got the correct balance on my account I paid to the doctors office and when I notified Bannisters Collection Services Ms. Debra Griffy preceeded to ask me "why can't you just pay us like you are supposed to do and not the doctor" and hung up on me! Very RUDE needs to attend anger management classes.....

I keep getting tons of calls regarding my employee; Lonnie Craig, who is on filming detail for me till end of December in The HolyLand. The caller who says he is Mr Epps who states to my (answering machine) that since you "answered" then you are (professing) that you are (Lonnie Craig) & you must get back with me or have your Attorney get back to me regarding a legal matter... He never mentions what it involves except it is a (legal matter) & Lonnie has assigned me as his legal representative until his return. I am also a licensed business Attorney as well as a Film producer- yet, when I call Mr Epps- I get nothing but an answering service & no return calls

A guy named Cody keeps calling me. He is a real fast talker. When I told him that I know nothing about the bill in question and that I disputed it by writing a letter to them, he promptly lied and said that they received the letter and it was denied. According to the letter I got from them, it states that I have 30 days to dispute. How in the world can they get the letter that I just mailed early this morning before I came to work???? Not only did he lied but he hung up the phone on me stating that he doesn't have to talk with me because I have a tone in my voice. When I called back to talk with a supervisor, who ever answered the phone stated when I asked to speak with a supervisor that they answer the phone in the office and can handle my complaint. This is a very rude company and I am going to report this to the Better Business Bureau.

What a debt collector CANNOT do:

Use deceptive practices. For example, threaten you with arrest or  trick you into paying for collection calls.
    Use obscene language.
Call you at work after you tell them that your boss does not approve these calls.
Deny you the right to receive a written notice (within five days after your first phone conversation) that would tell you how much you owe and the name of the creditor that says you owe the money. If you do not receive the notice within five days, call the collection agency and ask for its address and fax number. Then, send a letter to the collector noting its failure to send you the required notice. As a minimum, make a note in your file.
Refuse to give its name and the name of the collection company when asked.
Put a debt on your credit report if you file a dispute. It must validate the debt by obtaining a verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment from the creditor before continuing their collection efforts. The results of the investigation must be mailed to you.
