Received phone call from this number 20 Jan 2012 and 25 Jan 2012. Left no messages. When I returned the call. Recording said that they were not excepting any calls from my area. So this has to be a junk call. I will never answer this number.

Hey! Typically this number is an outbound number for Centurylink. We're calling you to offer additional services such as internet, TV, or wire maintenance. If you're on the National Do Not Call list, this covers companies you don't have an existing relationship with (which is why you don't get random calls from AmEx anymore if you don't have an AmEx card), the National Do Not Call list doesn't cover companies like your phone, cable, or utilities. If you don't want us to call you anymore, ask. Say 'could you put me on your do not call list?' and then STAY ON THE LINE. We need to inform you on how the do not call list works, and then we'll make sure it's done. If you hang up, you get a call back. 99% of the time we're really nice. I personally take extra time to make sure my customers ARE getting the best rate, but I can't tell you how many people are offered discounts, or a re-rate that would save them $5, $10, even $50 a month, but then say no. I really don't get it. So don't hate on us, we're just hard working Americans trying to make a living wage, just like you. Yes, you might hear a ring before you hear us. It happens sometimes. If you wait a second or so, you get a human. Also, there *might* be other companies using this number for caller ID spoofing, it's a possibility, so once we pull up your account, don't be afraid to ask us a few questions about your billing, we'll be happy to verify non-personal (i.e. not your D.O.B, SS#, or Billing address, think last bill amount, or what package you have) at the beginning of the call.

My daughter answered. It rang back and the girl on the other end said "This is Amanda with Centurylink" . Then it cut off. Centurylink is our provider.

The person that called me was NOT American. He had a very thick Indian accent and was in a loud call center and would not take no for an answer regarding what he was selling. I had to hang up on him and he called me back very rude and angry and STILL would not take no for an answer. He calls regularly and I just have to hang up every time.
