Got a call. No vm left. I called back. It said skytel & also asked for a pin. There's no reason for any company to contacting me. My belief is a scam call.

Looks like someone may be using their app to call. If you google skytel it has a free app that you dial from a wifi connection so you dont use your minutes.

Got a call from this #, but i don't think the caller knew i transfered them straight to vm. It was a male, heavy deep voice -- he said a few words in the beginning. He said "we got some....." then i couldn't understand what he had said but i could tell he wasn't speaking to my vm. I could also hear a lady in the background on another phone call. She said something about comcast, then asked to speak to a jacob mac. I heard her say again is jacob mac availble.

Same thing. Male with a deep voice like he needed to clear his throat. He was talking about Friday is the day to show something off but he was talking to someone else. Lady in the background was telemarketing and thanking someone for their time. Weird.

Got a call from this number, male, deep voice, said his name was jose. Asked to speak to my gf, asked for her by name. I asked what he was calling for, he replied he was calling from direct tv, told me we were getting free movie channels for 3 months. Thanks me for my service and hung up.

I got the same. He asked for me then said the same [***]. I wonder if they are just trying to verify that a number is connected to a certain person.

I received this same call.  They said we were going to get HBO and Cinemax free for 3 months... because we were such good Direct TV customers.  DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!  I checked my bill a couple of weeks later and found an extra charge for $35.00 on our bill.  Called Direct TV... they said "Sorry, you only get Cinemax for free... HBO is $35.00." When I told her to cancel it and take it off my bill because they lied to us.  She said "Sorry, that is a separate vendor.  You will have to call this number"... when I called the number, it immediately went to voice mail.  I called Direct TV back furious!  They finally agreed to cancel and give me a credit.  Ridiculous!!

I was anticipating a possible call from an 800 number, so I picked up.  They claimed to be DIRECTV, and asked me: "Is this Frank X?"  Stupidly, I answered yes and asked them not to call me again.  They were suspiciously accommodating.

Got a call from this number saying “thanks for being a great customer- here is three months of free channels 565-573”. Asked no questions or personal info. Went and checked a week later on the channels and they weren’t there. Called direct tv to ask why the channels were there and they said they had no call log about it and that it was probably a scam. I called the number back and it was Skytel and it asked for a pin (not a chance). Anyways called direct tv back to make sure they know who is trying to scam them and just so they are aware for future, and the guy said skytel IS a third party of theres...??? Super confused. But what kind of a scammer doesn’t try and scam you out of money or not even ask for a single piece of information?! Someone else on a different site wrote that they had the same call and same info was said to them but that direct tv did charge them extra for these channels?! BUT I figured out nothing becusee direct tv was ZERO help... they said we never called you and your bill shouldn’t change soooo I guess we will see what happens with my bill in the next few months?!
