    Caller claims to be local electric company and states I'm behind in my bill and will shut off electricity in 30 minutes if I don't make a payment...SCAM.  The City of San Marcos, TX electricity company does not operate like this so don't be scammed out of your hard earned money.

    Caller claimed to be from the "electric company" (didn't know the name of my electric company) and claimed that I had an outstanding balance that had to be paid right away or the electricity would be shut off. Since I am current on my payments I knew it was a scam. Watch out for this guy.
