I received a call on my cell phone and a man left a message saying he was from AAA. He also left an extension number 59201. I do owe money on my AAA credit card and didn't renew my roadside AAA plan.

Caller (he said he was from B of A) said he could help me with my b of a credit card, been having problems keep payments on time.  Have not called, leery because he said he could take care of it in minutes... doubt it. Just wants me to file for bankruptcy, but i am current on all other debt.

please call them, they can actually help with some kind of payment plan..dont file for bankruptcy try to work with them

A guy saying he was from "FIA Card Services" got the last four of my ssn before I realized it wasn't just "Card Services" (probably B of A). I have no accounts with FIA, and told the caller this. He replied that they represent other companies, said he had very important information for me, and he wanted my mother's maiden name. When I would not give it, he wanted to verify my street address, saying it was public information that he had anyway. Yet, he wouldn't read it to me so I could verify it to him.

I strongly believe this is a scam, and think "jon" above is part of the scam. If some random caller doesn't tell you something like a company name you do business with, their mailing address, and full account number, don't give them ANYTHING. It takes very little information these days to do a complete identity theft.

Sounded very sleazy and was upset when I refused to tell them my last name. I asked them to tell me what my last name was and they said they could not do that for security reasons but wanted me to verify it for their records.... I asked them what cards they represented and surprise, they could not tell me that either. Do not give them any info at all.

What I find fishy about this phone number is this; when FIA card services calls, it always shows up on caller ID as a 1-800 number. This number comes up as "No Name, No Number"....and they always leave a message saying "We have been trying to contact you for weeks..." No one has been trying to contact us, we're always home and the phone never rings. Have a BOA card, but it's up to date payment wise. Sounds like a scam to me. A legit call from ANY card services department, the phone number would show up.

I too just got a call. I would not give him any info. He asked if I would like to call back and talk to the manager. I said yes and he gave me 8004235049. I called my cc services, and he said there was nothing on my account and they were not trying to reach me. He also told me the two phone numbers that would be calling if there was a problem. Do not give any information out. I believe it is a scam.

Nice try, Jon.  lol.  It's a scam. If they have to ask me to verify or provide info PRIOR to discussing the real and FULL purpose of their call, it's a scam.  The ONLY time that a company will ask you to do this is when YOU call THEM, in order to get your account info.
In the case of 800-423-5049, no information could be obtained regarding its ownership.

Caller (who I couldn't understand even what he said his name was) jumbled the name of the company he was calling from - like he was confused. Left the number (800-423-5049) to call back too. When I did, an automated voice asked me to key in my card number. Ugh! Total scam.

They Said they were from fia card services representing bank of America . They were asking way to much info . I realized it might be a scam . They did not get any account numbers or ssn . Just some personal info . I'm worried I have them to much info :( There number is 18004235049

 Called and left a message saying they were with B of A and asking me to give them a call back.  I am behind on payments so it probably was them.  The ironic part is that part of their message was that they said that they have been trying to contact me.  They have robocalled many times, but their system hangs up on me when I answer the phone....

Called saying they were from B of A. had my name but wanted to verify my identity with my zip code. I responded that I do not give any information over the phone to which the caller replied: "Well I cannot continue this call unless you verify your identity."
So I said "That's fine, you called me... goodbye."
