This is the Debit and Credit Fraud Department from Wells Fargo, if you recieve a phonecall from this number it's probably beacuse tehre is some suspicious activity on your card that needs to be verified.

This is definitely NOT Wells Fargo fraud department.  The call itself is fraudulent.  I verified this with a banker at Wells Fargo.  Do NOT respond to the call  it is a Spoof or a Phishing call.

This call is a scam. Wells Fargo told me so when I called their main number to double check.

Not a scam,  Wells Fargo Fraud Department.  A customer had contested a credit card transaction and they wanted to make sure it was legit.   No big deal.

This IS NOT WELLS FARGO FRAUD DEPT  look on your card different #s  . These fake wells Fargo Fraud Dept scam Artist defrauded my 83 yr   old mother to the tune of over 30,000 . They even had the nerve to send her fake paper deny her claim  for fraudelent charges she thought she sent to wells Fargo real fraud dept . That's when I caught on . She's banked there for 25 years they aren't going to day oh too bad we  not going to investigate or care there's 30,000 .00 $ missing . Come on. I'm reporting it to the FTC

This was a scam. I called Wells Fargo and they said 800 423 7618 is not a Wells Fargo number. I did call and they asked for your credit card number exp and pin. Call the number on your card if u have a question. The send a real looking letter also. Looks like it’s from Ed but it’s not

Completely confused by the conflicting posts on here. I got a call from this number. I called Wells Fargo on another number and they confirmed that 800-423-7618 is listed as a Wells Fargo  online fraud department number. Since no message was left it was, however, suspicious. Use your own discretion.

This may be a valid phone number for Wells Fargo but that doesn't mean scammers aren't spoofing it.

No functionally intelligent person would look the number up when they knew who called and why.  That means that you are a moron or a shroll who is here to tells lies.

This is a phishing SCAM. Caller spoofs the valid number for Wells Fargo Credit Card Claims (800-423-7618) and says it’s Wells Fargo Fraud to discuss a suspicious payment on your account. They ask for your personal information and account number. According to the real Wells Fargo Fraud Detection department they do not make outgoing calls and ask for your account number, BECAUSE THEY ALREADY HAVE IT.

This is a 800 number that claims they are from Well Fargo and state you wrote a check to some foreign sounding individual. I do NOT have a Wells Fargo account. Just hang up or do not answer.

called and left a message on wife's cell.  We are contesting some charges on the card.  Evidently they are wanting to verify some information. They also said we could call the customer service number on the back of the card if we preferred.
