This is a caller who calls my cell, a recording asks me to hold, I have waited 45 seconds and become impatient.  When I called back I was told by a recording to hold so I hung up, later I tried again and a woman answered the phone "can I help you?" (rather rudely) and I asked "can I help you?".  she said no and hung up.  I assume this a collection agency but I do not owe anyone anything (checked my credit report) and I'm assuming that they are looking for someone else.  I probably don't know who they are looking for (my cell phone number is fairly new) but I could probably tell them that I'm not who they are looking for if they were more polite.

This is allied someone a debt collector they called and called i finally got ahold of them and they weren't looking for me at all.

The company with the phone number 800-441-2127 is "Allied Interstate" a supposed debt collection agency that called my phone number looking for someone I've never heard of. If you look them up on the Internet you will find that they have been sued for fraud by the Minnesota Attorney General.

I missed a call from this number, it just rang twice and there was a dial tone when I picked up.  I hit *69 to recall the number and look it up, and I found the results saying it was a debt collector.

Keep leaving messages on my cell..no debts..no credit of any kind

i just got a call from this number, my best bet is that it is a scam, because they claimed to be some sort of collection agency, but got rather nervous and confused when i started asking them questions about what they were trying to collect on. just ignore them, the law, and karma, will catch up to them soon enough

Just got one this morning, just a missed call.  didnt leave a message.  Seems from above that calling back might be a mistake. Almost fishing for clients

Called again, no message; therefore not important

I have received a call at about 12:30p every day for the last 5 days.  I have not been home and they only leave part of a message on our voicemail saying "any information you provide us will be confidential".  The last two days, I have called the number and heard a recorded message saying that my call was important and if I knew my party's extension I could dial it or wait for the next available representative.  I waited a little over 3 minutes and did not get connected.  I am beginning to think this is some sort of scam!  Today's call from them did not even register on my caller id, but showed that they had left a message on my voicemail...again only a partial call!  I know we do not owe anyone anything so it can't be a legitimate collection agency looking for us!

thanks for the info I too got the same excact call and tried to call them back with the same results. I have now blocked that number on my phones

this company called Allied was outsourced by Embarq telephone to collect funds from me....which I never owed them...it actually turned out being that Embarq owed me $198.00 and after Embarq sent me my refund check this stupid Allied company was still calling me, it's been 2 months since I got the refund check and I just got another call from them yesterday.
