This is probably a call from Intuit.  If you make a request for technical support from their website, this is the number they will call from.

This call is from Intuit, as indicated in other posts. (800-4-Intuit)

Called twice within 1 minute's timeframe - I answered the phone & there was dead silence.  No one in my office requested any tech support.

I believe this number is for genuine calls from Intuit (Quickbooks), but our office has received several calls from other numbers, all supposedly from Quickbooks, after we purchased the software. Most of them have been third party companies wanting to sucker us into extras we don't need or to get info about us to sell as marketing material.  If they ask for someone by name, it's probably legit, but if they ask for "the person in charge of financial decisions" or "Accounting" don't give them any information. If you ask to take a message they will usually hang up.

Beware if you buy Quickbooks, they instantly sell your contact info to anyone who'll pay.

It's Intuit Tech Support. I didn't answer it since it was an 800 number. But I was waiting for an answer from them on a support issue. aaaarrrrgggghhhhh

It seems it's fro Intuit, so they claim, they are trying to sell me an upgrade package that I would love. But is it too good to be true?  2 08 and the upcoming 09 for 200$

As of 10-22-08 this appears to be someone else, possibly a phish.  The recording says it's Middlesex Savings Bank, calling to alert me that my credit card has been turned off.  They want me to press "1" to connect to their Security department to turn it back on.  Hmm.  Smells phishy to me.

The phone menu provides no options for speaking with a human representative, nor a do not call option.

Therefore, I searched online and found the direct line for Intuit (the company this phone number is attached to (1-800-4-INTUIT).  When I called 1-650-944-6000, I pressed 3 for the attendant and spoke with her.  She said I had to provide a 5 digit extension, but I calmly explained my situation.  

From there she sent me to the Office of the President where the person there helped me get on their company Do Not Call List for further solicitations.  This woman also informed me that you can sign up for the Do Not Call list for Intuit at their privacy page online: https://privacy.intuit.com/cpi/do/home

I had signed up for Turbo Tax's inner circle 2008 tax return software which said you don't need to pay until you file. I believe Intuit is the company that produces Turbo Tax.  I had gone ahead and started the return using personal information and then logged out.  When I tried to get back into the program, there was no icon on the desktop nor any way I could find to access the file.  I then pushed the Contact bar on the TurboTax Inner Circle site and requested that someone call me which they are supposed to do within 30 minutes.  About three minutes later the phone rang but there was no one on the other end.

This is definitely Intuit out going number. My call was regarding tax software by a sales person who had previously contacted me last year.

Multiple calls from this 800 number, no name on the caller ID, no one at the other end when the phone is answered. They just hang up. If it is INTUIT they should be ashamed of themselves (and hopefully lose customers as a result).

Searched the phone number online and they're Intuit-Quickbooks.  They seem to call on the anniversary of my purchase to buy a new version of the software.  They don't give technical support besides the one call and the program is still difficult to understand after a few years.  They're only nice when they're trying to sell us an upgrade for features we have no idea how to use without a good help feature.

The program is always cheaper in the stores, so don't buy from this company.  They offer unnecessary expensive upgrades.

They call every so often and also ent me an email to upgrade a program I still can't figure out how to properly use.

Trying to sell me on their 2011 program.   No reasonable need to upgrade, they advise of all the support features that can be used, but you need to pay for these extras.  So you buy a new program without any support services.

Below average product with horrible paid technical support.   I  just hope they stop calling.

It's Intuit Software. I just got an evaluation copy of one of their tax preparation software products and they probably wanted to touch base with me about buying it. But I never pick up on unidentified numbers.
