I received a message entirely in Spanish, which I do not speak, so I have no idea what it said.

I can help. Call the number they left, it is their responsibility to understand YOU. Simply make your request and speak loudly and slowly. You will have to repeat a few times, louder and slower each time.

If unsure you are getting through, just add and "o" and the each of each important word and you will have instant Spanish!  Like this:  I requesto no moreo callos. It's easy!  If the calls were in Italian, you would add an "a" and add some "eh" sounds"  Eh, stopa the phonea callas, eh?  French is like Italian, but you have to toss in a bunch of "la" and "le"s and more inflection.

This system does not work so well with the "Romance" languages like Russian, Chinese and Japanese. Sorry, I can't help with German, but they usually speak English better than most Americans anyway.
