Someone by the name of JONI calling from GEICO insurance called to report that a claim had been filed against one of my elderly parents "insured vehicles".  They were not home at the time, but obviously it caused a lot of concern for my parents.  Joni left a "claim #" of 0231735960101055.  I have tried to call and sort this out for my parents, however I don't seem to get any answer.  Not really cool:(

I also just got a call like this. They didn't ask for any name just said to call back about a minor incident that happened today. They did not identify any car either and none of our cars (we have four adults living here) has been involved in anything.  It was Josh Lopez from Geico and a different claim number was left.  So I think it is some kind of scam.   Glad my husband suggeste I google this before calling back.

I got a similar cryptic call from 858 513 5000. It turns out my son was in a car accident. I got a 16 digits claim number. The call back number is 800 453 6494. The numbers belong to Geico. It was a real Geico call.

Geico's Claim Dept...if vehicle was in an accident, this is # they want you callback.
