this was home depot, who were silent when I answered.  suspecting a scam call, got on this website and
found many reports of problems from this  number. called the #, got customer service, explained they have a problem and the rather large number of complaints about this #.  Finally was transferred to another #, after
explaining all this to the FIRST #, was able to set a time and day for them to come.  I suspect that their
"consultants" may be freely giving out customer numbers and they need to know it is SO not ok.

Keep getting calls from this 800-466-3337... never leave a message. I'm on the **DO NOT CALL** list, too.
This is really aggravating when the call and never say a word, even if you answer. If this is a department of Home Depot it's very poor business!

    Shingles Needy
Home Depot trying to set up a house visit in pursuit of giving a roof shingling estimate.
Told them on the first call that I signed up on line JUST TO OBTAIN A COST RANGE, giving details from the last shingle job.
Home Depot gal said that's NOT how THEY do things,
now they've called in messages another 5 times - different person each time.

    Food for thought!

May be caller is home depot. But it's really annoying when they asked me to verify my info.
I declined to verify my info, 'cause I didn't know who that person was .....

I looked this number up on the web because it is the number I got from Home Depot to request credit protection after the privacy breach this spring (2014). The problem I have is that the person from the Brockville store (Kelly) who answered my call did not have any information about who owned the 1-800 number, it is just a number they hand out. So Home Depot is trying to make you will feel better about having your financial information breached. One would think they would have more information about the number they are giving out to people, whose privacy has already been compromised.

Not sure why I got a call from this number. I haven't made any contact with Home Depot regarding appointments or anything of the sort.

I called them back and spoke to a customer service rep, asking what they called about. I also asked what their address for service (legal process) was. I also told them at the start that call was being recorded. Meanwhile, I considered it recreational for me to tie up some of their equipment and for a while.

    CallerID= Home Depot
HOWEVER, the caller identified the business as US Solar Energy (mumble- he would not give me the last word clearly).  He had a foreign accent and I could hear a lot of what sounded like people on the phone in the background (like a boiler room).  I asked why the CallerID showed "Home Depot" and he would give me an answer.  I told him falsifying CallerID is illegal and I was reporting the call.  Then I hung up.

I looked up "US Solar Energy"  and no company with that part of the name came up.

I called Home Depot about the call I got.  (Keenan) said he was reporting my incident to the Home Depot corporate office because it did not sound like the call was a legitimate Home Depot call.  There is suspicion that the call was 'piggy backed' on a Home Depot line.  Anytime Home Depot calls, the number should start with 877.  Their calls all come out of Georgia.  Additionally, Home Depot does not engage in telemarketing cold calls.

If it is really Home Depot, then why don't they have the human being, professional decency to show "Home Depot" on caller id, iinstead of "Unavailable."  If it is Unavailable, then we just will not answer, and view it as another number to be plugged into the call blocker, along with all of the other pirates, scammers, slime, political, supposed charitable, you have won a free trip, etc.etc.  A p[ox on them.

They claimed to be a solar power installation company, I advised them I was on the do not call list and they didn't care, said they wanted to be reported.

If they are really Home Depot, then why don't they have the common human being, professional decency to identify themselves as Home Depot on Caller Id? Otherwise, they are just the usual pirates, scammers and scum phishing for personal info to use for identity theft and more unsolicited calls. I actually contracted with Home Depot to perform repair work on my house, and I am sorry that I ever did so. They will call several times a day with reminders about installations, and even after talking to a supposed Home Depot human being to confirm, they will call another 2-6 limes in the same day, then repeat it all over the following day. Home Depot gives one the distinct impression that they think all of their customers are total idiots, so they can keep hammering away by phone and email about the same appointment. I bet they could reduce overhead and prices by 30% by getting rid of all of these extra people who do nothing but harass customers with machine gun calling day after day after day... For shame Home Depot!

I have received numerous calls from this number trying to sell me solar for my home.  After several attempts requesting to have my phone number removed from the list to no avail.  I am not sure how they have my contact info considering that my number is registered on the DO NOT CALL list.

If this is really from Home Depot, then they are in with the rogues, scammers and Godless Devils. They still don't identify themselves on caller id as "Home Depot," and these Devils call on Sunday. It figures that Godless Devils who do not listen to their customers would not be in church on Sunday.  I agree with Paul, if they get rid of all of the robo-calling machines and people who just harass customers with totally unnecessary calls coming up as Unavailable, they could probably reduce prices by 30%. I am all for U.S. employment, but totally unnecessary, repeated calls, including on a Sunday, amount to harassment and should be a hanging offense.
