Make sure that there is no dogs, firearms, and if any minor children that I have someone to be here to take care of them. In the message which is the second call today she states that one of her servers along with uniform officer will come out to my residence but later on in her message she states myself and a uniform officer. Is this a leggit phone number or is this a scam. Come get me for what????

    Legitimate process servers do not call to warn you, or to get money from you to stop the process.  They will deliver the notification without warning.

    Also, if you were threatened with an "arrest warrant" via a phone call or email, read this:
    http://news.uscourts.gov/warning-arrest-warrant-scam

    "The warrant is phony. A valid warrant would not be served by fax or e-mail. It would be served in person by a U.S. Marshal or other law enforcement officer."

    "Anyone receiving a fake arrest warrant should contact the FBI or the district U.S. Marshals Office. If there is any question regarding the authenticity of a warrant, contact your district clerk of court."

    I got the same call and she said the exact same thing to me but she wanted me to call northern mitigation lawyers to get more information. I refused so I went to google to  look up whether or not this law firm was legit. Well there are no listings any where of this law firm. So I called the number back and I asked her where the law firm located, she put me hold and said Rachester, NY so I googled that.. no luck. The first time she called she said they would be out on Monday at 9am to pick me up from work/home but when I called back she said tomorrow at 9am.. hmmmm? Fraud! So, I asked her to give me the address to this law firm. She said all they have listed is a PO Box. Fraud!

    Notorious group of white collar scammers and extortionists.   They refuse to ID themselves and usually give false ID's when they give you anything at all.   Nobody has been able to locate this gang, but I'm working on it.

    That is third-party and highly illegal unless they are on the account. They're just trying to scam your grandmother and get her info. Only police and Child Protective can remove children-not a debt collector as debt is CIVIL, not CRIMINAL!

    It is definitely a scam. These are criminals attempting to extort money for non-existent debts. Read more as to what the FTC has to say about them:

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    •Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    You're not sure if it is legit?   Do you know if you have been committing Felony fraud and other crimes?
    Case numbers can be made up,   knowing your county is not magic.
    Not sure if legit or what?    I can say without hesitation is it   "or what".

    Since it is a new cell phone number,  assuming they knew his name,   more than likely someone who has his number in their cell contacts received a text message from a familiar name asking him to click on a link.  When he did,  it gave access to his contacts list.   This happens all the time. Most people don't understand how some crook gets their cell number.  Contact lists can be accessed by anyone who knows how to do it,  and the numbers they get from one phone can be used to access the numbers on all of the other phones,  and progressively on from their.  Once hacked list can produce thousands of unlisted phone numbers.  I just wish our government could hire some of the brilliant crooks and put their services to good use.  Of course not much difference in them and the government anyway.
