- txgirl replies to compmanI would take the call getting this insurance has saved me over $400 in one year which is more than what I paid for the insurance! My water heater is fixing to go out and my ac is acting funny and they will fix or replace for only $60 a visit!! So answer the phone it is worth every penny!!!
- db replies to compmanAmerican Home Shield. I've had this warranty coverage for 8 years. I won't live without it. In a few different houses, they replaced a heat pump ($2000), an A/C compressor and fan ($800), dishwasher ($600), clothes washer ($900) fixed toilets and a water heater. It's a whole lot easier to pay the small deductible when needing repairs than thousands. So far I'm ahead...
- AHS is goodI'm okay with AHS. Saved my wife and I several hundred dollars to replace a cracked garbage disposal. Also came out and fixed the dishwasher. This organization is worth it!

- Ryan replies to compman| 1 replyI have to agree with the posts here. We got an AHS warranty thrown in when we bought our first house, and the hot water heater went out after 3 days in the home. AHS replaced it with a new one...saved a ton right there. Since then, we have always had the warranty. Replaced the AC compressor, fixed dishwasher, garbage disposal, and last week replaced a bad electrical fuse. AHS warranty has saved us a TON of money.
- KK replies to RyanI agree with the rest. I am glad that I had this coverage. They were very helpful...
- JPI disagree. I had a pipe bust in the wall. They seem to find any reason to not cover repairs despite what the brochure says. Ended up doing the work myself.

- DonWow, lots of shill posts here. Like JP said, they will find whatever reason they need to get out of covering the repairs listed in the contract. Avoid.
- GAgree about them doing everything they can to avoid diagnosing the problem as something that is covered.
Use another warranty company.- Caller: American Home Shield
- George MI've had AHS for about 3 yrs now. As with any company and contractors, you get the good, the bad and the ugly. On many occasions, I've had to have the contractor/repairmen return multiple times; but AHS has always honored my requests for another company to come out if I wasn't satisified with the progress or completion of the job. I guess the last word is don't be a wuss if you think you're getting a crappy job make it known.

- WesGot a call from them today. It's American Home Shield. I'm currently involved in a dispute with them where they should cover a $750 repair and they only want to pay $230. What a rip off. They hire their own team of plumbers, electricians, etc. and these people look for ways to get out of AHS paying what should be paid for repairs. Never again!!

- JaneFollowing up on a service request. Love AHS. They are replacing my 20 yr old dryer, because you can't buy a timer for it anymore. They have repaired my heat pump three separate times (three different issues). The only thing they would not pay for was an issue caused by incorrect installation. I think a lot of it depends on the contractor that they send.

- gpotts5626I have had AHS for 4 years. I have never had an issue with them sending out a tech, making a repair, or following up. I may have disagreed with them a few times like when they decided to repair a really old a/c rather than replace, but it worked after the repair. The next year, when it broke, they installed a new unit.
