800-495-7218

I received spam emails claiming bogus Amazon charges and paypal charges.  This 800 number is given as the number to call for customer service.  There were no charges actually made.

Received a similar e-mail confirming my order with no name of the company where the purchase was supposedly made from.  It also references an non-existent shipping company, nor the payment source used.  The only bit of identifying information in the e-mail is this phone number, which I'm certain that if you call it, will have someone skillfully getting you to reveal all sorts of personal information to "verify" your identity.

I received a fake "Amazon" email - saying that I had ordered a large screen TV and speakers which were out for delivery today. It said that there was a payment due of $1,000. I called the number (which is the 800-495-7218) and you can tell it isn't Amazon. Their telephony system is not branded, it says you're the first caller in their queue, and it is very fake. I reported the email to Amazon per their instructions and then called this number and said I knew they were scammers. They promptly hung up on me. BEWARE!

Fake email from Amazon; order “out for shipping” at an address in Austin TX…$4k+ of flatscreen, speakers, etc. unrecognized fedex tracking number.
