A call from Citibank asking me to enroll in a payment bonus plan

The person did say she was from Citibank calling to tell me about some type of "reward" program, but she refused to tell me what specifically it was about unless I confirmed some information, which I did want to do until I knew exactly what she wanted.  Her persistance in wanting to confirm my "information" bothered me and she wasn't speaking in a pleasant voice - just very mechanical repeating the same phrase over and over probably reading it of a script.  There was no way of knowing that she was truly from Citibank.  After all, she was asking ME to confirm who I am, but SHE didn't confirm who she was.

Lady said it was a Partner Payment program from Citibank. Told her I was not interested.  Conversation lasted 2 minutes.

Message left said they were from AT&T Universal Card.  When I called the number back it was the Payment Partner Program Enrollment.  Didn't specify for which bank.

800-514-9658 TOLLFREE NUMBER  Message did not identify caller, was simply "press 1 or press 2"; I did neither. Very strange.

Again, today, 800-514-9658 TOLLFREE NUMBER just called.  Message did not identify caller, was this time "press 1, otherwise press 2"; again, I did neither. Very strange.  Some postings say Citibank, another says ATT Universal Card which (I think) is issued by Citibank.

I received the call from Citibank stating it was a partner program.  When I asked that they remove my name and phone number they started asking me to verify information.  I hung up without giving the information.  After all, if they are really who they say they are why will they need my information?  Don't answer their questions, hang up, and save yourselves a ton of heart ache.  If you feel this may be a legitimate call, then go to the Citibank website and contact them that way.  It's better to call them than to learn that your identity was stolen.

    Hello,
I participated in the real Citibank payment partner program, and it was by invitation only and they sent a letter in the mail first.  You had to read it, and initiate your own participation in the program by calling them, not the other way around.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!
