Call us immediately regarding a restriction put on your account

I got pretty much the same message in a text to my mobile at roughly the same time from this phone number.  Although my message also made reference to my VISA.

I continue getting these text messages.  This morning has been the third one in the past two months.  I called my bank, and the call didn't come from them.

Received text message saying: "Please call us immediately at 1-800-546-8162 regarding recent restriction placed on your account."  

My coworker recently received the same text and he did call.  It was a computer generated call service that asked for the last 6 digits of his credit card.  Once he gave it, the computer replied thank you and hung up.

This is a scam.  Do not call.

Message to my personal cellular at 3:48PM Tuesday, March 10, 2009:
"8005468162 VISA. Please call us immediately at 1-800-546-8162 regarding recent restriction placed on your account. Thank you."

I tried calling back several hours later from a landline and it gave me a disconnected/busy signal.

I also received a strange text from a "madge@johnbokma.com" the next day. Not sure if they're related...but definitely got on a bad call list somehow.

Received the same text. I called Visa, and they said it was not a number they used.

Report messages like this to your carrier so that filters can be updated to prevent future messages of this type! :-)
