I've been getting a call from this number every day for a couple of weeks....anyone know who it is?

It's an organization that makes calls for charitable donations.  My caller was looking for money for the police dept.

They said they were calling for the VFW. I told them, as I tell everybody that calls asking for a donation, that I do not give to unsolicited charities, ever. This is usually good enough reason for them to end the call. But the guy said; "Well, we're not unsolicited, we have a copy of a check right here for $10 that you sent us." I informed him that I have never in my life given anything to the VFW and so that is a lie. He said it can't be a lie, he's got a copy of a pledge mailed from my address. What an idiot!! I told him someone is lying to him & he again tried to keep me on the phone with this bull about giving to them before. (Does the idiot realize that he is atually referring that I am the liar here?) I again informed him that I do not give to unsolicited charities and hung up on him all the while I could still hear him rambling on about me giving them money before. Absolutely ridiculous!

These idiots have been calling my house nonstop and every time I tell them to put me on their do not solicit list, they respond with "we are exempt from the do not solicit list because we work with non-profit organizations." ...they would go on to say "we'll call back and speak with your husband since he is the one who donates"  I ended up screaming at the woman the third time and swore at her. I'm looking into reporting this company to the govt DNS agency. They suck.

They may be jerks but those calling to solicit for charities are exempt from the DNC list.  Go to the DNC website and read the parts on the types of callers that are not covered.  However, reputable charities will honor your request to not call.  The ones that continue to do so I simply say "I have asked you not to call, you have now just guaranteed I will never, ever donate to your charity."  Then I add them to the blocked callers list on my Panasonic cordless phone.

They've been calling my house for several days, several times each day.  No messages are left.There is never anyone on the phone when I do answer.  I called the number back, and the recording says, "Toll-free.com is not assigned.  If you wish...."  I hang-up by this point of the recording, so....IT IS NOT A VALID NUMBER!

It was a fundraising company on behalf of "The Kid's Wish Network."  They want our help raising money.  They claim that we donated in the past, yet I do not recognize them at all.  Most charity reports label them as a scam.  Anderson Cooper reports that it rates rock-bottom as the worst charity in the U.S.

Then the company called me 10 minutes later for a different charity.  Something for veterans.  I requested removal from their database.  They call over and over and over.  5 or 6 times a day.  This is the first time I answered in a month, and now I get two calls in 10 minutes from the EXACT same number.  Wow.

Called, then didn't speak. Twice today!

They called and after I said Hello the guy on the other end said "did you see what she just did?".  I didn't answer.. he repeated it... then hung up.  I've received calls from this number before asking for money for the Kids Wish Network... which as another person said is a scam.

If you use AT&T Uverse.. you can go into your service website and block phone numbers (I blocked this one).  I would guess other providers have the same functionality.

Rotten [***] calls,asks for someone who is not home then hangs up.  Wish I COULD call back on that number but I  Get something in Spanish?  Fux do not honor the do not call

My husband hangs up on telemarketers. I try to be a little nicer but I received a call asking for donations for the Kid's Wish Network. After politely telling the woman for the third time that making a donation was not in my budget at the time, she responded with "Oh...heaven forbid. We wouldn't want to take anything away from you now would we?" and she hung up on me. Even if that charity was legit, I would never donate to them and hope no one else will either.

I've been getting relentless calls from this number. They claimed to be calling on behalf of a charity I gave $10.00 to last year.  However, that charity I am pretty sure called me from their number not this 800-Service number.  Reading the other comments on here, it sounds like they are a scam, just changing charity to suit the situation.  One other thing, I started to state "please take me off your list....I am ...and they hung up on me."  If it was a true charity, I don't believe they would hang up on you like that.  Beware, these are some pretty nasty scam artists.
