Who is this? They keep leaving messages on the answering machine.
I can't get through to a live person to find out the address
so I can send them a Cease letter.
They said "progressive financial" I have Never heard of them
and don't think it has anything to do with progressive insurance.
If I do get in touch with them, The First thing I would ask them
is Are they LICENSED in my State and if so, what is the License Number.
I doubt they are licensed and would most likely hang up on me.

    It gets better.

My wife and I agreed to pay them an exorbitant amount of money to get her student loan debt caught up (I had lost my job, then her, and we got behind) on the premise that we would be able to take the tax deduction for the huge payments that we were making and really could not afford; we both felt bad that she'd gone so far into the hole and we wanted to make it right.

On no fewer than 4 separate occasions (including our initial contact,) they assured us that we would be able to do this.

Today, their rep changes the story, and tells my wife "well you can't take a deduction when you are in default."

I'm telling you right now, if I'd known they were lying to us, I'd have agreed to absolutely nothing with them, whether or not we got sued. Not being able to take that deduction has pretty much sunk us in the tax-bill department; we aren't rich and don't get to pay a 15% rate.

My advice to anyone dealing with these jerks would be to see a lawyer first, and get anything they promise you in writing. It may sound expensive to you now, but believe me... it'll be much WORSE for you later if you don't.

Your an idiot buddy! This company is randomly calling people all over the US and Canada that have nothing to do with them.
This company will call again and again and again... Its not even a live person but a computer voice. They have called me on my work cell 1 time a day for over 2 months now. You should stop being a dick and supporting this kind of unsolicited phone stalking!

Sorry Example Of A Collection Company
Collector (Former Employee), Tempe Az – November 19, 2012
    Pros: not a one
    Cons: an endless amount
I have well over a decade of collection exp. Never in all my career have I worked for such a poorly managed company. For those entering the collection industry I would urge you to consider another agency to kick start your career. For those who are seasoned collectors interested in working for this company...eghh what the hell go sit for a week and enjoy a good laugh. However I would encourage you to be proactive in finding another job with a reputable company. With the amont of law suits against them combined with and endless trail of FDPCA violations and BBB complaints im amazed there doors are open. You would think that the owners of this company would pay more attention to those they intrust with everyday operations. Even the floor managers have been sued for FDCPA violations. So for anybody considering this hell hole do yourself a favor and do some research first.

They keep calling about a debt, but won't say what kind of debt. Asking for my social security number and birth date. That's against the law and no one told them.

I asked them to send a letter to my address about the debt they think i owe. So, let's see if they do it.
