Received a call, they said they were calling because I was under investigation for check fraud. I had my ID stolen before so I panicked. They told me that there was a warrant for my arrest pending and that I needed to pay $4800. The guy put me on hold and prtetended to call Maricopa County Attorney's office. Said that if I pay $1295 they will remove the warrant. They asked me personal info , my employer, salary, bills. I hung up and called the county attorneys office myself. They had nothing there for me, no ivestigation, no warrant, nothing. They even said that they do not prosecute for check cashing places.
I called them back and they continued to try and lie to me about it, said that since it was sold to an attorney they can prosecute now. This is not true!

My husband received a call from these people and they told him there was a warrant out for my arrest that he had to immediately pay them $1,400 to keep me out of jail and that to clear up the matter completely we needed to pay $3,000!!!  All of this is due to a pay day money loan for $400.  I called "Ronald Golden" back and asked for his supervisor and he hung up on me.  I called back and entered a different extension number and reached a Tawanda Clark, when I asked her for a supervisor, she wanted all of my information, when I would not give it to her, she insulted me, told me I needed to get a job and pay them or else and then hung up on me.  I have already called the Attorney General's office, the sheriff's office and the police department to make a report of them impersonating a peace officer.

Received a call stating my husband was under investigation for check fraud and that he needed to call back "George Mavis" immediately to resolve this.  They even gave me their so-called case number.  Before calling them back, we researched the 1-800 number they provided and found these posts.  We will NOT be calling these scammers back!

They called my ex husband of 19 years and somehow got my daughters cell phone number and called her.  They said they wanted to get my side of the story regarding check fraud!  Dumb [***], not repaying a pay-day loan is not fraud!  needless to say,  I'm not calling them back.  Debt collecitng is a job like any other and should be done honestly!

Onpoint investigative Service: Is SCAM this company bike me of 50.00. Telling me if I didnot pay them, I was going to jail, like a FOOL I did it. They told me I had payday loan 1,850.00 I never had a payday loan. I got my 50.00 and close account, after finding it was a scam. I received a phone call from Agent Davis in reference to my son.  I had a 'feeling' this was not the police or sheriff's department.  THanks for all your posts.  I can sleep now.

I have a message to call Agent Davis regarding the same. Thanks everybody for the posts. The message she left was quite frightening and now I know why. I won't be calling her back.

My best friend call me today saing that Agent Davis had called and talked to her. I was so upset for I never done any thing wrong thanks to these post I can now sleep

Lady calling herself "Agent Reed" called my mother's house, where I do not live, and told my mother that I was under investigation for check fraud due to a payday loan that was unpaid. I have no payday loans and do not intend on getting any.  This "Agent Reed" also advised my mother that failure to return the call would result in a warrant and possible jail time.  Aside from violating every FDCPA guideline, these people are stupid!

This company who called themselves Investigative Recovery Services called my 70 year old father who lives in an entirely different state then the one I live in. How they got his number is a mystery to me. I was extremely upset that they had the hutzpah to call my father, he has nothing to with decisions I make! I stopped living with him 25 years ago! These people told my father that they were calling about a bad check. When my father said why then why didn't you take her to court, they just said that the account was closed by me. It was someone named Danny. I refuse to talk to these people because they are a bunch of thugs! I purposely called them after hours and left a message for DANNY. I told him that he was breaking the law by contacting anyone other than myself and discussing my personal matters. I told him I had a right to privacy and that I had EVERY right to sue him. I have consulted with an attorney. This is regarding a pay day loan. These people should be thrown in jail! I WILL contact Dateline!

It is extremely important to their case to include in your statement if the phone representative claimed to be an attorney, claimed that the firm is a law firm or alluded to the firm being a law firm or having lawyers on staff or something about a  network of attorneys that work for their firm. Also end your statement with the line below:

I respectfully request that the firm Investigative Recovery Services be prosecuted under the fullest extent of the law pursuant to 15 USC §§ 1692 § 814 and State laws regarding Fair Debt Collection Credit Practices.

I recieved a call from investigative recovery service, saying that I need to pay $1,300.00 immediately for there be a felony bench warrent for my arrest. I panicked and told them that I didn't have the money in my account. They said that I could break into three payments of $434.00 so I gave them my bank account number and routing number.  After the conversation ended between us I thought back and it all sounded fishy.  There were difinitly red flags here, I'm just upset it took me so long to lok them up.  Now that they have my bank infromation im even more scared.  I'm going to the bank immediately and let them know ofthe situation as well.  I hope these people get whats coming to them.

"Mr. Earland" called and left a message saying I was under investigation and needed to call them back today with such and such case number and dial his extension 123. Um...not doing it. No chance. People, do NOT, repeat, DO NOT call them back. Let your friends and family know this is a scam.

I received a call from them a few months ago, stating I also had a warrant for my arrest.  I was terrified, I had never as so much had a pair of handcuffs on in my life.  They told me that the "Police" department had the warrant effective 5pm that day unless I paid some God awful amount.  Not realizing I had 2  phones, when he put me on hold to "talk to the attorney to work something out" , I called the "Sheriff" station (not police) to find out his information was not true.  I told him I had to see if I could possibly get the money, and call him back.  This gave me enough time to do some checking on the net.  I found out the same, it was a SCAM.  Now, several months later, my brother calls me with a message on his answering machine for him to call and give a statement about me, and for anyone else associated with me to do so.  My brother called me, gave me the info on the machine, and Guess Who!  Now I will contact my attorney, and see if I can get them on harassment, they are way out of control.
