- PudgeFolks, it is sooo easy to verify. Just call the number on the back of your card. Please post back and let us know if this was a legitimate call.
- Not a victimThis is a scam - do not give any information to someone at this number. Bank of America had already cancelled my card and initiated a replacement when I got a call from this number at my mother's house. Bank of America had been watching my account for possible fraud. When I called this number, I was asked for my full 16 digit card number and when I would not give it the person was insistent. When I asked for a supervisor, I was put on hold.
- ChrisThis is legitimate. Bank of America called me telling my credit card had been breached and that they would be sending me a new card. I logged into my online banking account to confirm this and received a similar message, and noticed that a new number was being applied to my credit account.
- Caller: Bank of America
- F AI received a call this morning on my cell and work number. They left a message saying they were Bank of America and that my card was cancelled. They had the wrong last 4 digits! I'm pretty sure this is a scam. I will be calling Bank of America directly to confirm instead of calling the provided number.
- Caller: Bank of America
- SCI, too, just got a similar call. Caller ID said it was from B of A and left a message to call them back at this number. When I called, a male answered with "card services" and wanted my full credit card account number. When I asked what bank he was from, he said that they were not associated with any particular bank, but were tasked with issuing new cards to replace the cards that had been compromised. I told him I would only speak to someone from B of A, hung up, and called the number on the back of my card. They confirmed that they would not hire an outside company to call owners of compromised cards. . .
Those whose credit card has been compromised BEWARE!!- Caller: "Card Services"
- KirkDon't know if it's legit. They left a message and said my card was compromised and BoA had sent me a new card. They got my name and the last digi of my old card right. When I log in my online bank, BoA did changed my card number, and they did mailed me a new card. I did not call the number back cuz I don't have problem to have a new card.
