- Samantha| 1 replyI get calls from them every few days, but I don't have any Amerigroup insurance.
- just me replies to Samanthau may have health insurance under a differant name,.. but amerigroup is backing it,... ie Tencare
- Taylor Consulting and BillingYes, it is an insurance company that has only government contracts. If you are in a Medicaid or Medicare HMO, they are probably calling you. If you don't, they probably have a wrong number for one of their members and the best way to get the calls to stop is to pick up the line and inform them that they have a wrong number.
I'm not sure if they can pull up members by phone number, but if you're not home when they call, you MAY be able to call them and have them correct their records and the calls will stop.- Caller: Amerigroup

- Good MommyI just answered a call from this number on my cell and they stated my kids names and ask if I could participate in a survey of them asking me a few questions about my kids health insurance to better serve me and my kids but out of the safety of myself and kids, I declined to answer the questions for safety reason in regard, I wil not verify my address, kids social and bithday, insurance number, how many parents are in the home, what medical conditions they may have, what doctor they see.... I mean I understand they may be a legitament establishment but I am not comfortable answering all of those questions on the phone, and would have had no problem if they invited me to an office to answer the very personal questions, but over the phone with all the scams going on with people trying to do identity theft and stuff, it just aint gonna happen to me or my kids...

- Ji ParkI've been receiving calls from 800-600-4441 every morning and evening for about a month now!
I don't know how to stop them from calling. - jmThis number calls my cell every single day twice a day for several weeks now and never answers whether I pick up or call them back. It's not just annoying but upsetting as I was at a funeral and knew they would call me during and they when I turned my cell back on I had 2 missed calls from them during the time of my mourning.
- amerigroup haterAs soon as the message starts (if the message starts) press the star * key - this should remove you from their calling list. You need not continue listening to the message.

- Amerigroup Customer Serv RepI work at the inbound call center for AGP and there is an outbound call center as well where they call mbrs for several different reasons like ie surveys. Unfortunatly in the inbound dep we are not provided with the information as to who exactly calls mbrs or for what reason and that is what we explain to mbrs as well. But if you would like to stop recieving calls then we can gladly prevent those calls from happening in the future. I cannot believe how rude people can be when calling in I mean that is just not necessary please be nice!

- beyond frustratedSince 2007 I've been receiving calls from Amerigroup to refinance my house. I used them once in 2007 (thus I got on their call list) and started receiving phone calls almost immediately telling me they were calling about their great rates for refinancing. The first few months I kindly told them that I had in fact JUST DONE that with them....(this should have been my first clue). To which they kindly apologized, let me know that they would adjust my records and sorry for the phones calls. That was 5 1/2 years ago.\
I just received another phone call. AGain. This goes on at least onjce or twice a month. Some innocent phone caller calls me eager to tell me about their great rates. And for the past 2 1/2 years I tell them the same story, "no, I don't ahve a VA loan, no I don't have a mortgage at all." To which I get the same thing, "oh, I'm sorry about that ma'am. I'll update our records so you stop receiving these calls".
I've changed my tactics over the years: cursed at them, spoke in foreign languages, stated i was no longer at this phone number, stopped answering the phone (I don't suggest this, as then they call back with more frequency), put my number on the do not call list, told them to take me off their calling list (I add this every single time), I've even called them requesting removal, I've even gone as far as befriending the customer service rep hoping that I'd get some "insiders" treatment and be removed finally (for this I had to listen to the guy and his thoughts about how much Floridian women are liars and are just after rich men....he moved there recently), etc.
Nothing works. And I'm at my limit.
I'm now going to be filing a complaint with the FCC and I strongly hope that the rest of you will do the same, so that the FCC possibly bumps this issue to the top of their priority list.
You must first call and put your number on the do not call list....and tell the company (keep the date/time, name. and phone number of when you did this for your own records) that you no longer want to receive phone calls. They are supposed to honor this for 5 years.

- survey pleaseThey have been calling me, the first thing they ask is, can you verify the date of birth, I told them NO, and they are like you can call us back, I don't have time for their crap, they took over child health plus from empire blue cross without any previous warning, and they want to know more about us, why do they have to learn more about us..

- Amerigroup Employee| 1 replyFirst, I can assure you that this is a legitimate phone number. If you do not want to receive phone calls answer the phone and advise the representative of that. Pressing the star key will only sound like you pressing a button, it will not remove your phone number. If you don't want to conduct a questionnaire welcoming you to the health plan, you do not have to. But be aware that if you ever request to be placed on the DNC list, they will not call you for anything, including any future services from nurses, case management, to let you that your plan may be expiring, or for assistance with recertifying.
And as for the "beyond frustrated" rant above. Amerigroup is not calling ANYONE to have them refinance a home. They are not a fiancial institution of any kind, they are a managed care organization for government assistance insurance plans. So reporting a phone number to the fcc for something it has nothing to do with is pointless. If you want a different health plan for yourself or your kids, contact the state you live in to switch, since it is a government assistance program.- Caller: Amerigroup
- Wendy ChapmanI continue to receive calls from this number regarding a person that I do not know. This is a wrong number, I have stated so, but continue to receive calls with a recorded message and no way stop them.
I have contacted them and was told that they will place me on a "Do Not Call" list, but I want to ensure that I don't receive any more calls.- Caller: Ameri Group
