An automated call that pronounced my name wrong, and about the time solicitors are to stop calling.  This number called a relative of mine.  I have not given out their number unless it was an emergency contact on a school form. It asked if it was "my name" press one. The relative wrote the number down and told me about it.

Student Borrower Services calling to try and get me to sign up for a Student Loan with them, or re-finance current student loans. They had all my info and first started saying they are calling because they need to "verify" my info. Don't give out more info to them! They're trying to sign you up for a loan! They do not represent any company you currently have student loans with, even though they try to make it seem like they do. Scammers!

These idiots dont even know when they are getting an answering machine.  I'd like to know if they "qualify" under the " do not call" list.

Kept getting "unknown" calls on my cell phone.  Today I finally got a voice mail and an automated voice that mispronounces my name said to call back at 800-616-4727.  I have no idea who it is, but after reading the post about student borrower services, I think that sounds about right.  I recently started repaying my student loans.

    Hope this helps.

I called and asked my duaghter if she heard of this company as when they called they stated they had information for me about the school , i  attended.  I am 50 years old and haven't been to school since i graduated high School. I called my 24 yo daughter b/c she attended a career school and thought maybe it was regarding that but she never heard of them either.  Needless to say i did not call them back. Figured it was a scam.

Student Borrower Services calling to try and get me to sign up for a Student Loan with them, or re-finance current student loans.  Shucks I haven't been in college for over 30 years - what a bunch of a**holes.

I also recieved a call on my cell phone from Student Borrower Services that supposedly was in conjunction with my college.  I called them back and they said that they do not have a call list that they received the information from the school.  I told them that I do not want to refiance my student loans as I am still in school and they said they would stop calling. We'll see, but they did have my info such as my name, DOB, Loan information and school info, so be careful!!

Called today 9:09 AM, left no message.

    1. Callers should not be able to un-list a number if you call the phone company. I understand privacy, but who's privacy are we trying to protect these days. Not the people, they have my number.

    2. I am every do-not-call list outside of the student loans.
    3. My Number is a Cell, how did they get it???
    4. Is the government selling our data, or are people hacking into the government system?
    5. I too signed up for the Student Loan Do Not Call List.
    6. Why can't I find the owner of an 800 number, that seems a bit odd?

A message was on the answering machine - totally automated call with my name inserted in the right places, asking me to call back, with absolutely no company or contact name given, loans are never mentioned.

I recently graduated from school in May, so maybe it is someone connected with student loans.

    Just so you know.....

-They are not trying to consolidate or refinace your loan.
-They are not trying to collect money.
-The DO NO CALL list does not apply to them

SBS is contracted by several different schools as a default prevention/aversion. Several schools that help students apply for Federal Financial Aid have a high default rate. They contract Student Borrower Services (or other companies) to stay in touch with students to make sure that they know how to defer/forbear loans, etc. so they do not go into default. They school gives all of your info to them, as well as the loan servicers and loan guarantors (such as the department of education, citibank, salliemae, etc.) There is no scam involved. They ask you to verify your information at the beginning of the call because they want to properly indentify the borrower before disclosing personal information about your loan. (This practice is per the Privacy Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)

They called saying that they were a collection agency for Access Group.  When I stated that I "may" want to pay, this B***H got on the phon eand started assaulting me saying that I was "GOING" to pay "RIGHT NOW" or she had nothing ese to talk to me about.  She started yelling at me, and wouldn't stop until I hung up.  They have nothing to do with the debt collection! Holy Sh$%!

I have been getting calls from them for over a week. New number for me. After a number of attempts I actually got through to someone and told them I was not the person they were looking for. THis was a new phone number for me and I'd like the number removed. They said they would do that. We'll see.

This number calls and an automated message comes on telling me to stay on the line for a very important phone call.  I stayed on the line the 2nd time, and the phone hung up.
