wanted me to press 1 or call back 1-800-624-8191.  No message.  I did not call it back.  It showed up as a 786-523-0351 number on my caller ID.  very weird.

Always they are asking for someone with a nearly same name as me. Have responded to their 'it's not me' telephone prompts to no avail for over 3 years.  Once they told me my phone number is the one that's (nearly same name) on the account.  Someone should report them. They won't tell me their business, asked for my birthdate once, and seriously think it's a ploy now.  If I believed my name was somehow misspelled and i might be in the need to figure out it's important business.  They can have the business end...

I think the operative terms here are "account" and "similar name". You may have a debt collector skip tracing for someone else. Three more years of the same ineffectual response is not going to stop the calls. Get a live rep and demand a business name and address. Learn how to draft a cease-comm notice and send USPS Certified with card. The "someone" who "should report them" is waiting now in your mirror.
