A call from this company to clean the chimney. They are  called aero ventilation. Is this a good company.

Got an unwanted solicitation call from a person representing a company called "The Chimney Company". The call came around 1:00pm in the afternoon to my home phone. I am on the national Don't Call List.
The caller informed me that "They" were going to be in my area and did I need any chimney cleaning service.
I asked for the name of the company again, and was given the name "The Chimney Company" once again.
I asked if there was a phone number. I was given the number 800-640-5651.
I was then asked if I would like to schedule any work. I replied, "No, I want to report you to the authorities for unwanted solicitation" The caller then said, "YOU DO THAT!" and quickly hung up. The caller had a distinct New Jersey or New York accent.

Caller who gave the customer service number as 800-640-5651, called 7-9-13 said she was from A&E Chimney in South Baltimore. I had her give it phonetically to be sure: She said A for Apple and E for Edward. I tried Bing and google (first six pages of responses) and yelp, without finding it mentioned. Pitch was the usual - we'll be in your (DC) neighborhood on such-and-such a date, have served the neighborhood many years, offer a discount for seniors. Caller had a NY-NJ accent. we are on the do not call list, and I don't believe I have ever have a do not call listing.

Clarifying my earlier post: I don't believe we've ever done business with a company with that name or anything similar.

Identical to Andy's experience, even the lady with NY/NJ accent. Can't find the business ID or address. I agreed to let them
come over next weekend on Saturday. If things don't look right they're not getting in the door. They offered to clean and camera the chimney for $59.00 (senior discount). I told the lady that sounded too cheap to cover expenses. I'm an electrician and I know that wouldn't cover MY expenses. But heck! maybe they'll get some repair jobs out of it. Probably not from me tho'.

Scam scam scam??? Don't know!! In the last few months this guy Joe must have done hundreds of stainless steel liners in the DC area. I know of at least twenty!! $1530 a pop is alot of dough!! This guy from aero ventilation must be a freakin millionaire!! Do all these people really need liners??? Don't know. Did I???

NY    or NJ lady calls from Rhode Island  every week...to sweep the chimney for the senior price of $59 . I live in washington DC.  Go away! My neighbor fell for it and wound up payin over$1300  and had to call the gas co cause she had c2o filling the house. Stay away, this co is a ripoff!

Now the number is being used as a straight up phish for your debit/credit card number. Got it in a text.
