The caller, UNAVAILABE ( displayed as ID on our phone ), used 1-800-655-4555. to call us 09:45, 12.07.2012.for 2nd time.. We opted not to answer " Unavailable or unwanted call " per FTC ( www.donotcall.gov. ) suggestion. When I returned the call .  I missed the call. Around 16:50,  when I watch Los Angels Mandarin news : One of Southern Edison  manager Mrs. Ou was talking about some one used the number asking people to pay unpaid bill. When I check
our home phone, The caller used this number to call again 15:42, 12.03.2015

The caller called us 3rd time today 12.07.2015 , not 2nd time

caller ID showed the number and "Unavailable" and the man went into a long spiel about "well ma'am we're calling homeowners today because the governor signed into new legislation they're not gonna build any more nuclear power plants" bla bla hung up.  Obviously an illegal telemarketer selling some home construction.

It is particularly important to block these numbers that spoof legitimate ones. The technology should exist within the phone systems to stop this practice. IP generated calls can be screened by the service provider to match the ID to the originating internet address to a registered caller ID and block calls whose IP address don't match the caller ID.
If legitimate organizations start seeing a negative impact from getting their calls blocked more frequently, they will pressure the service providers to invest the money in making the changes.

Caller Id says "Chino Hills City".  When I answer there is no response to my salutation.  When I call the number I reach SoCal Edison.  After speaking with an associate I found that they do not have a clue as to what SCE should or could do.
I've been called once a day for the last several days.  This is some sort of scam.  My account is current with SCE and they have no plans to work on their system in my area.

Same here. I just got a call from Chino Hills California which actually got past no mo Robo. I hung up and immediately called the number back because when I looked it up it said Southern California Edison. It is Southern California Edison and they know nothing about this spoofed number.  Be careful.

This is a solar scammer who is spoofing a real Southern California Edison Company phone number to avoid getting nailed by call blocker.

He first stated that he was with SCE. I asked plainly if he was actually a SCE employee, to which he replied "We are working with SCE to make sure you are aware of the solar rebates that are in effect".
Just another scamming solar company.

Impersonating Southern California Edison and spoofing and actual SCE number. They are selling solar.

Called Wednesday, 2/24/16 at 11:50 am.  Caller ID showed "Unavailable".  Did not hear phone ring, so never picked up. No message left.  Do not answer "unavailable" calls without first checking this site.

Check your SCE Bill, that number is indeed listed as a General Service number.

For all of you posting, this is definitely a spoofed phone call. I ended up going directly to Southern California Edison and asking them about this.  They are aware of the problem but say they can do nothing about it??????? although they  know that people have been scammed out of hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I wanted to scream!!!

Caller ask if I wanted to lower my Edison bill. If bill was over $75. Like all Telemarkers "they are in the neighborhood" will give free estimate good for a year.  I replied "This is a condo" call HOA for approval.
SLAMMED down the receiver.

These scumbags first called using the CID of 18006554555, then 30 seconds later using the CID of CHINO HILLS CIT.
Many telescums use this tactic to try and fool call blockers.
Having several telescumbag countermeasure systems, they can try every trick in the book with me, but will never get thru!

According    http:800notes.com. This number being used to call many people about turn of power ( electricity ) due to no payment since 11.11.2013.
It called us 4th tomes as today
We reported to SCD, www.donotcall.gov & www.ftc.gov/comp;laints, so far , IT seemed  no one took action against this actual caller.

I count in my phone 20 calls from this phone number. I finally answer and some guy told me he wanted to help my. Ja,ja,ja.

Just got off the phone with with Southern California Edison again about this scam and what they are doing is making sure that the local newspapers know about this and they're also putting a notice in their billing. I just got another call from these people and I picked it up just to find out what they were up to and they were trying to sell me solar.  As soon as I told her no she slammed the phone down. I think the only thing we can do now is to continue to call Southern California Edison and let them know there is a problem and hopefully they will start taking other action.

The number does belong to SCE - HOWEVER - it's been cloned or hi-jacked if you will by thieves telling the recipient that their payment(s) are past-due to fraudulently extract $ from the person. SCE has sent and is sending out a warning to this fact. Beware !!!

I talked with someone a couple weeks ago at Edison about this and they assured me that they were referring this to their security division and legal department. The person I later talked to said that they were well aware of this scam a were setting up "traps" to try and trace the IP routing of these calls (not sure how that happens). Hopefully they will catch these [***].
