I don't owe anything form them

4/30/10 @ 10:25 am EDT. Caller ID blocked. They called left a message that was not understandable, an account # that was not recognizable. When I called back, they would not say who they were or what they were calling about. THe account # they left on the message did not 'come up on their system". Miss Jones asked for other info - I refused until she told me what the company was, who they worked for, what business they are in. When I told her the call was being recorded and she had 10 seconds to tell me who the company was, she hung up.

Got a call from 800-684-2533.  This number shows up as 800 Service on the caller id.  It is a number for Progressive financial services which is a bill collector.  They use bogus comments like "We are calling on behalf of the US Treasury Department" which is illegal.  The US Treasury will send official documents if you have an issue with them per an accountant I know.  These guys will lie and do anything within their power to freak you out and get you to call them...so don't.  Ignore them, their skum bags.

Told me I have to pay my total debt that day or my wages would be garnished.  I pulled up my credit report and had no record of the amount being sent to collections,  Called them back and told them they are liars and not to call back.  Have the number blocked now.  [***]!

They phoned me and then put me on hold. After several minutes I got a person who gave my first initial and last name then gave my last 4 SSAN digits and they were wrong. I immediately hung up.  Therefore they are calling everyone in the country with the same name as a debtor in hopes of finding the right one. My telephone number is unlisted. They must have used some illegal method of finding it out.

They call all the time but they don't ever leave a message.  Unless a number is left behind for me to call, I'm not going on a hunt to find out how to contact them.

I keep receiving calls from 1-800-684-2533; I have told them over and over and over.... there is no M Elder at this number !!!

These people phone everyone in the country with the approximate name of a genuine debtor in the hopes of finding the right one. As a result it causes a waste of everyone else's time.

I have been receiving calls from the following two companies:

877-357-4074, NCO, (National Credit Collection Agency)
and
800-684-2533, Progressive Financial Services, Inc

I have filed a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) (https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/) I advise everyone to do the same if they are receiving these annoying calls. I have no Idea who they are looking for and if I did I would not provide any information.

Automated calls.

I keep getting a call for these people, which is automated.  The name I do not recognize, and the automated message even gives me the persons Social Security Number.  !!!  I have gone through the automated menu and selected the option to remove this number from their system as I am not the person they are trying to reach, but I still get the calls.  I actually talked to someone once, who I explained to him that I am not this person, nor have I ever heard of him.  He said he would remove me from the phone list.  But the calls still come in...  WTF   I have absolutely NO DEBTS whatsoever.  So I know this isn't for me...

I have now informed them 5 times to stop calling my number.  Each time, they claim to have removed my number from the system.  They keep on looking for a John, however I quite honestly don't even know a John believe it or not.  I have recorded each call on my end, and informed them that they are being recorded.

Evidently they are claiming they are from the US Treasury Dept.  Another took the call so I didn't talk directly to them but I do trust the individual who took the call.  As far as I can tell, I DON'T owe the government any money.  I suspect these guys are fraudulent.

A Miss Jones called from Progressive Financial Services claiming that my wife owed $41,293.23 in debt incurred when she owned a Beauty salon that she later sold to a partner in 2003.  The business no longer exists and it took 8 years for someone to contact us. Strange in itself!  They claimed they were collecting money on behalf of the better business administartion.  Sounds fraudulent to us.  We have a document relieving my wife of any liabilities when she sold the business to her partner.  I am in the process off sending them a letter with a copy of the document as well as pointing out that we never received any listing of the so called debt and it took 8 years for someone to contact us..

A fool keep calling from this number mumbling things that I have no connection with.
