- Curious replies to Pilar| 1 replyHonest question, how do you see information being stolen? Are files being deleted from your hard drive, so they are disappearing from the directory list? Do you see the cursor moving around to various programs? A couple of people on here said the same thing about "seeing information being stolen" but I want to know what that looks like, in case it happens to me. Thanks!
- MikeHuntleton replies to CuriousThose people couldn't possibly KNOW if a scammer was actually stealing info unless they witnessed the scammer sending it to themselves or highlighting it. But if you see any of your personal information displayed on screen during a remote access session, then you can believe its being copied, screen captured or noted in some fashion. NO Tech Support of any company should be viewing your personal information like Banking information, passwords to websites, contact lists, etc.
This is why its never a good idea to allow ANYONE remote access to your computer unless its a reputable company you contacted and asked them for tech support. You won't need to worry about "what it looks like" if you simply don't allow it to happen in the first place. :)
FYI:
For anyone who does allow a Remote Access session, you can terminate the session AT ANY TIME. You can end it immediately if you think they are doing something they shouldn't, but its best to never get in that situation. - Dallas residentNINE calls and voice mails from this number in 4 hours. Very frustrating. How to get it to stop? Pretending my iCloud acct was hacked (I do not have an iCloud Acct that I actually use). - Magic SchnauzerI received a call from this number at 10:20 AM PST on my cell phone, that I did not answer. Approximately 30 minutes later, I was alerted to a new voicemail message left on my phone. In reviewing that voicemail message, it was a truncated robocall, with no identification of the caller provided, other than a recommendation to contact the entity's "TOLL FREE" phone number at (360) 205-9659, to listen to the same message that was left, or to obtain further information. I happen to be from Western Washington State, and recognized the (360) area code as being associated with the areas to the north and south of the greater Seattle-Tacoma region, NOT toll-free. I don't believe I've ever utilized iCloud services, even when I was an active Mac user, and that was last several years ago. I'm so tired of these scammers thinking and hoping that everyone's a complete moron.

They left a message as I don't answer calls I don't recognize the numbers)saying to "refrain from using any financial activities on my devices and to call 1-877-232-8922... THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT press 1 or call the 1-877 number given/left on the voice mail. Scammers use apple support number to show on your Caller ID.
I researched this number 800-694-7466 and indeed it shows up as US/CanadaAPPLE support number on the official APPLE website... Still, instead of calling the 1-877 number left in the voice mail, I contacted Apple and they told me that they do not have any campaign calling APPLE customers about any security breach on any financial activities. The customer support told me APPLE DOES NOT call customers asking them for either personal information of their apple device information (IMEI or serial numbers).- Caller: Fake APPLE
