What good is having a DO NOT CALL when these clowns keep calling anyway?

Politicians and non=profit organizations are the exception.

Calls several times per day for the past week. Not going to answer nor am I going to donate to their organization...or any other for that matter, just based on these phone tactics alone. So, why can't a "do not call list" be organized and passed in legislation for  all the non profits,public organizations, and politicians that are currently exempt,too?

When I found how how much Special Olympics management makes from "donations" I got pretty disgusted. Then when they resort to harassing, nuisance phone calls to try to drum up more cash, I'm REALLY disgusted.

Once upon a time calling and hanging up was considered harassment a crank call, now it's charity....
What gives them the unmitigated right to call my home early Saturday
( early to me) and hang up, why the powers that be that exempt them from showing any common curtsy & decency, that's who.

I will not donate to a crank caller  that's what they are if they call listen to my voice message & then hang up.

They don't even identify who they are on the caller ID. Isn't that illegal?

The Special Olympics is another Kennedy family scam. All of their non-profits take money from other people AND from the government and little or no Kennedy family money. Then a Kennedy family member or friend is appointed CEO despite having no executive experience. The Kennedy then collects a big fat high 6-figure salary.

Patrick Kennedy, the former dumbest member of Congress, is doing this with a charity to fund mental health research. Joe Kennedy II is doing it with a heating oil "charity." The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy in Boston promised to be privately funded but now uses about 10 times as much government funds to operate per square yard than any other park in the country.

I'm sorry if I'm sick of these people, but Kennedy + Charity = Scam!

It's unfortunate that you chose to smear and defame one of the most magnanimous families in America on this site.  You make your snide, hateful comments without citing one reliable source.  I can tell you from personal experience that I know first hand the aid that poor people receive in the form of heating oil through Joe Kennedy's oil service.  I also once worked at a camp for learning disabled , low income children who now enjoy a beautiful olympic size swimming pool donated to them through a Kenndy family charity.  Those are my sources.....now let's hear yours!!!!

You are right.  I've spent most of my life working in the advocacy field on behalf of individuals with disabilities, and Special Olympics is one of the worst charitible offenders when it comes to using donations for their activities vs. turning them around into their fundraising work.  Look at any reputable philanthropic "report card" group that tracks organizational spending and Special Olympics invariably has a poor rating.  The fact that they now resort to this type of fundraising strategy speaks volumes.

Spoofing your Caller ID is a surefire way to guarantee that I won't answer the phone.

To get businesses, political, paid charities to stop calling you have to say
You should always say "please put me on your internal do not call list" when you don't want to hear from a company again. Fail to do so, and some other telemarketer from there will be bugging you in the future.

Many people instead blurt "take me off your list!" Reputable companies should recognize that as a request to be put on the internal "do not call" list, but slimy ones will use this imprecise wording against you and ignore your request.

Give the political stuff a rest bucket head. Stick to the facts not your notions of truth.
Are you even sure who it was that called you? No!! You said the Caller ID didn't identify the caller. So go ahead and attack people because of your political beliefs.
The Special Olympics may indeed be a scam but you don't really know who that was now do you? I went to the web site and they don't mention Patrick Kennedy anywhere on the site. Only Eunice Kennedy Shriver is mentioned and she is the founder of the Special Olympics. And she died years ago. Whoever is making these calls for donations are not her now are they? I'm willing to bet that a Kennedy doesn't benefit from this one tiny little bit.
Also, since you mentioned it, the Joe Kennedy Oil fund is a real charity and it DOES help people. I know this for a fact. So you are way off base. Leave your political garbage out of this stuff.

We got a call from this number today at 10:04 am. Itt was blocked by our call blocker, which blocks all calls from the 800 area code. The caller ID was UNAVAILABLE. When I called back I heard a recording stating that it was Special Olympics. I question the legitimacy of any organization which doesn't identify itself when calling.
