- Patty RobersonCarl from BOA called me with ref #4148594363 and sd someone had tried to get a signature visa in my name and wanted to know if I had applied if it or was it far d? I said no I hadn’t applied. He wanted my full address, DOB, and last 4 of my social sec #. I wouldn’t provide any of it. I asked for his agent number, direct phone number and dept he was calling from. He sd he didn’t have an agent number, just call the fraud dept number listed off the back of my card. I asked him again what type of card that was attempted to be obtained. He said since I wouldn’t provide any of my info that he wasn’t going to tell me. I told him he had just called and he said they had applied for a signature card. He said oh. I said you’re the actual attempted defrauder aren’t you? He said no and hung up. I called the BOA card number on the back of my card and got the actual fraud dept and they said good thing you didn’t give them any of the info they requested because it wasn’t the true BOA calling. It’s a scam people, don’t give them any info. I also put a freeze on my credit account with credit bureaus. When they call BOA popped up on my phone.

- IvanG replies to ChuckSame experience. They called and asked for my date of birth and social sec #, claiming that they were from Bank of America. I said I never applied for a credit card and they said that in order to cancel the application I had to provide the information requested. I did not give them my info.
- BobReceived notification that someone was trying to open an account at BofA in my name via my credit monitoring. Today, this call from the 6076 number. I do not see any info that confirms that this is actually a BofA number. I suspect it is just the fraudster trying to validate info. Yeah. Tried to call the real BofA numbers but all they want is my personal info just to start a talk with me me. All for an account I have? Um... Yeah. No. So I locked my credit. Soooooo, they will probably call you next. ;) Obviously BofA has issues if this has been happening for a few years and no one has stopped this number. BAD, BAD, BAD.

- Betty| 1 replyA guy who claimed he is with Bank of America called me on 4/19/2023 from a number 1-800-718-6076 and said he needed to verify my information on my credit card application. He asked me for my full name, date of birth, address, email and driver license number, etc. After I gave him the info, the phone got disconnected. I called back at the same number, a lady picked up the phone and she asked for my ss#. Luckily I did not give it to her. Then, the next day 4/20/2023, a fraud charge of multiple hundreds of dollars appeared on my credit card from GAYLORD NATIONAL F/D. I don't recognize that charge. I searched on the web and found out that GAYLORD NATIONAL is a scam. I called my bank and they said they would not ask for SS#. Be careful of scam callers trying to steal your identity and money!

- BigA replies to BettySomeone calls you up out of the blue and you have no idea who it really is yet you give them enough information to commit identity theft? Did you even apply to them for a credit card? Probably not. You called them back and immediately someone answered? Well that certainly wasn't the bank now was it?
- L a aCalled and said they were from Bank of America and it was being recorded. They keep calling from different numbers that don’t show up as b of a. Scam
