Salvation Army. We give every year. These unsolicited calls may change that.

Just another annoying dinner hour call that is relegated into my "no ringer" collection. Sadly I usually give to the Salvation ARmy's Xmas drive. But they bug the hell out of you with snail mail all year long and now with junk phone calls. So I will send nothing anymore and hope they just go away.

Let it go to answering machine. No message left. Called number back and got recorded message that said "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association. We're very sorry we missed you. We will try to reach you again in the next few days. We were calling you with some recent updates. If you would like some more information about our organization, please press 1 now."  I am an NRA member, so I don't think this was a random call. Folks should also keep in mind that many times organizations like the NRA contract out to contact/call centers (independent companies), which may serve multiple clients using a handful of phone numbers. So just because you get a call from a number and someone finds out it was related to X company/organization, it doesn't necessarily mean that every call from that number is related to the same company/org.

I have been getting calls from this number 800-725-2769 and when I answer, it hangs up.. today I decided to check to see who it was

This number calls daily. If I answer the phone there is no one there. Not even a machine. If I let it go to the answer machine no message is left. It is as if it is caught in a revolving recall with no instructions.

The number 800-725-2769 is apparently the Salvation Army national number and the number 866-725-2769 is apparently the NRA number.  Hence the confusion.
