This is the "Dependent Services" phone number of a private corporation called Alight Solutions (formerly "Aon"), located at 4 Overlook Point, Lincolnshire, IL 60069. They are a "real" company and not necessarily a "scam" per say, but they are generally hated by everyone who knows them and for good reason. Check their BBB profile, where they have a D- rating, and virtually every other consumer rating website has similarly negative feedback about them. Their "Dependent Services" calls are trying to get you to submit proof of the new dependent you added to your health insurance policy, but that isn't as harmless as it sounds. Because as other notes here show, they won't admit to you that they are a third-party private company calling you from out of state. They openly lie and claim they are a "department" at your employer or the health insurance company. While I understand that this probably makes it easier for their employees to get people to comply with their demands, they still should not be allowed to intentionally give false identification over the phone (or on the letters they send you). And yes, their goal is to try to find an excuse to deny your dependents as a cost saving measure for your employer!
