800-746-1901

You receive a message from someone telling you to call 1-800-746-1901 for a reference check, and they provide a reference number. When you call the 800 number, you are greeted with a "the number you have dialed is no longer in service the new number is 866-619-2521."  When I call the latter number, and provide the reference number, they ask you for your name. I encourage you to not offer your name, but simply state you are responding to a call and you want to confirm who it is they are trying to reach. They do not answer you and keep asking you for your name.  They eventually hang up, if you don't offer your name.  It is very strange
