- Kyle| 20 repliesShowed up in my bank statement. Said I made a debit purchase of $0.19 and this phone number is on there. It's only $0.19 but is still very suspicious. I'll be calling my bank this morning.
- Reel| 2 repliesshowed up in my bank account for 17cents, blocked my card
- K. L.| 2 repliesAlso showed up on my bank statement as a debit for $0.11. "TXUS" appears after the number, indicating Texas may be one of the locations involved.
- Nick-Wisconsin| 8 repliesSame here...I saw $0.17 withdrawn from my bank account. I checked and the number: 1-800-764-0847 is disconnected. After I researched I found this forum. I called my bank and blocked my card. They should trace where the money is going to. I guess they try to see if it works before they do the 'big' amounts.
- Randy - Tennessee| 2 repliesSame story, $.16 from my checking. Bank has killed my card so I will have to get a new one. I suspect the same as Nick, that they tried the small amount first, then will try a larger amount.
- Frank - NM| 2 repliesHit my account for 13 cents, glad it's not more but I'm calling the bank as soon as they open.
- Pete w.| 2 repliesAs I checked online this morning, I see a small charge in the amount of $0.13 with the text "TX GFDL" after the number (1-800-764-0847 TX GFDL). It does NOT say "pre-authorize"--it is a 13 Cent charge by someone unknown by me. It appears that they are testing accounts, using very small amounts, to see if they can successfully charge to them. Then, they know that later on---even weeks later--they can charge whatever they want online. It's a pain, but I am going to have to get a new card this morning. It will take 10 days at least to receive a new card--what a pain!
- srMN replies to Pete w.| 1 replyI had the same thing happen to me only it was $0.15 with the same text and number. I tried calling the number as I was instructed to by my bank but I got a recording saying that the number is not in service at this time. Do I really have to cancel my cards??? That would be such a major pain.
- Gregory D| 5 repliesI thought it was a fluke and reported it to my bank Union Bank, after I saw it on my online account. The bank wanted to cancel my card and issue me a new one. All I could think of was the 20 different accounts I would have to change online and the time it would take. I later decided to cancel the card and do the work. I felt being lazy in the long run could come back to bite me in the ass, because the first debit was 18 cents....who knows how big the next one would be?
- JSA Charge for $.14 appeared on my checking account. It says GFDL in Texas and gives a number to call. I called the number 800.764.0847 and a recording says the number is not in service. My bank cancelled my card and I am disputing the charge! Please dont just cancel your cards. You must dispute the charge in order for it to be investigated. These people need to be caught!
- Caller: GFDL
- srMN replies to Gregory D| 4 repliesYeh, I did too. Upon reflection though I wonder if perhaps these 'a**holes are purposely going for smaller amounts figuring the banks won't bother with prosecuting them or even following up. I suppose if they hit enough people those little charges can make for a lot of money for them even if they never hit the same person twice. I've been racking by brain trying to think of where I might have gone online or what website I might have visited that could be corrupted. It has to be a place I frequent but I can't imagine which one.
- LB| 8 repliesI am curious where everyone is from, I also had this charge today and I just talked to my bank and transferred all funds to a different account until I can withdraw cash and report the fraud. I am in Washington State.
- srMN replies to LB| 2 repliesMN here. Looking back at some of the earlier posts I see WI, NM, Tennessee and you in Washington State and others that don't list, so it doesn't seem like it's from any one area or financial institution. Someone said to dispute the charge but I don't know that the bank would bother for such a minimal amount to try to hunt them down. Now if it was one bank, and all those people wanted their cards cancelled, might be another story. That would cost them some change.
- BS replies to srMN| 1 replyI'm in PA and they hit my card yesterday for only 12 cents. But I cancelled my card. Not taking any chances.
- PatrickI'm in California, and they hit me for $.15, but the worst part is that I'm also seeing almost $250 in pending transactions that I didn't make. I'm also going to cancel my card today, but I may have to fight these charges with my bank if they post after canceling the card. The bank said they won't do anything until they actually clear. Be careful if you see this $.15 charge - it looks like they are in fact stealing your card info!
- LIPA Here. I found the same transaction documented as "Debit Card Withdrawal GFDL 800-764-0847 TX" for $0.18 cents in my checking account. I called my bank and canceled my card and I can get a new one as soon as today if I visit one of the bank branches, so it’s not too much of a pain.
- Tru2DC$0.12 was deducted from my bank account today with the name of GFDL and an 800# listed (800-764-0847). I tried to call that number and a recording comes on saying "wing central - the number you have dialed is not in service at this time". I have no clue what 12 cents would get me or even why I would charge it so I called my bank to dispute and cancelled my card. I do have a feeling it it someone out there trying to 'test the waters' with a small amount and then hit me with a huge fraudulant charge. My bank says the card was not present and no signatures from me were submitted so it was done online. Annoyed.
- Lee in AR| 2 repliesSame story as everyone else. I canceled my card and my bank has already put the .12 back in my account after I disputed the charge. Better safe than sorry.
- K.L. replies to BSI'm also in PA; I called the number after I originally posted here and got the 'not in service' message as well.
- K.L. replies to srMN| 3 repliesDoes anyone here purchase stuff from QVC? A while back a family member had some fraudulent charges to a card, and while on the phone with the fraud department, the customer service rep intimated that seems to coincide with recent purchases from QVC. I don't want to cast any aspersions, but I thought it was worth mentioning to see if anyone else found this to be true.
