- JTCalled my cell phone and left a number to call back on. Caller ID picked up the 1-800-798-5606 but "Steve" left 1-800-764-1325 as callback number. Didn't say anything about debt collection as required by FDCPA. Made it seem as if he was a friend calling.

- FurnabulaxA woman named Anna called, leaving a message and said that she was going to make an assessment on my behalf... and that it was urgent to call immediately at 800 764 1325. No information as to what the assessment was about. She used a condescending, threatening, aggressive tone of voice... referred to me only by my first name at the beginning of the call, but never my last name.

- FrancoBeen getting calls from these people, whoever they are. They won't give company name when asked. I'm asking for something in writing. They say it is about an old credit card and they reference my x wife (of over 11 years). All of my outstanding debits were paid at that time. This is a scam outfit. They are not a collection agency or they would be more up front.
- sweatpeaSome lady called saying her name was Cassie and needed my husband to call her and asked for his cell number and i told her i don't give out numbers and she said well it was a personal matter between them she wants to help him, and that she was not with no debt collector and left the number 1-800-764- 1325 with an extension number 2299 and said to make sure he calls back as soon as possible, and neither one of us are calling it back ever!!!!

- not amusedPerson claiming to be sean Johnson called my mother, who lives four states away(1700 miles)looking for me, would not tell her why just, that it was urgent. Number he left her was 800-764-1325 ext. 2057. When i tried to call them to find out what it was about just got music nothing else. My wife says she recieved a call of unknown origin from a young female refused to say what it was about, could not tell my wife because she was "just my wife". After reading these messages I am believing the calls are from the same people.I only have one unpaid debt and that is in dispute. Even the fcc can't get a straight answer from the company that I am disputing the debt with.
- BertThis same number left a message 1800-764-1325 saying i need to call him back now i know not too!
- kayI received a call from this number and they asked for my son like they were his friend, the guy even said that he was worried about him because he has not heard from my son in awhile. I then asked who I was speaking to and was given the run around, the guy did say something, and it was so rushed I do not hear it correctly. I had to look it up by the phone number. Once I stared questing the person that called me the person ended the call.
This call made me feel panicked as a mother and worried about my son. NOT NICE… - RosieLeft a message - didn't identify themselves as debt collectors or what company they represent. Caller ID showed 916-828-1111 but left call back number of 800-764-1325

- MarieNelson & Associates is a law firm that takes debtors to court for severely past due debt- credit cards primarily. They handle HSBC, Chase, GE , Capital One... you name it.
They issue a summons, provide a few months to work something out and start the calls to home, work and relatives to talk to the appropriate person. By no means am I happy to get this call, but if they are calling you, they are calling to try and sort out the debt... Ignoring them may result in you or whomever they are attempting to get a hold of going to court for the debt and legal fees, suffering wage garnishment ect. Either way, more grief is caused by ignoring them. Again, it's a LAW FIRM, they specialize in debt. This isn't some Joe Blow Schmuck collections agency. They are working for whatever credit provider directly.
They are not debt collectors as in third party... they do have to follow the FDCPA as they are working to collect a debt, which is why they do not explain exactly WHY they are calling. Regardless if you are getting the call for your wife or husband, they cannot disclose without that actual debtors permission. If you want to avoid going to court and have your wages garnished, just call them back. You'd be better off calling back and setting up a payment arrangement, or officially disputing the debt then ignoring them.- Caller: Nelson & Assoc.

- mysquishythey called me at 8:30 this morning .. a woman with a name sounding like jeanin beck calling for my maiden name. stated i needed to call them back as soon as possible.
left 1-800-764-1325 ext 2271
didnt identify they were what company they were from....or what it was reguarding - Not HereReceived call today that went to voicemail. Woman identified herself by first name only and did not indicate who she was calling for or what this call is about. I have no debt issues and do not have any other concerns... my ex wife however may have used my name as a creditor years ago - this could be from that... Have no idea - and am not checking.
However, if this is debt related, did not follow FDCPA. - LizReceived msg from my Ex that someone at this number wanted to talk to me. He gave me the number and ext 2276 . I called and Susan said it was an old phone bill they were trying to collect on. I didn't make the bill but it was a phone that I lent to my son, so technically it WAS my bill. I told her there was no way I could pay that lump sum and she said they would work with me to pay it off. They have been true to their word and I am making payments and will have it cleared up soon. I HAVE NO COMPLAINT. They did not tell my ex what it was concerning & it was none of his business. They were not rude in any way and completely professional. They were more professional than the cell phone company who told me either pay the $900 balance or get my wages garnished.

- Ha!Nice Marie!
Marie obviously works for "Nelson, Watson & Associates, LLC". But the funny part is, they are NOT from what I gather from their website, a law firm. They call themselves the "pre-legal" part of collections, and boast to "Using our nation-wide attorney network, we can initiate legal proceedings on your behalf in any of the 50 states. We have sought out the best attorneys in the country and assembled a network of legal experts that have a proven track record with post judgment follow through."
Please check the Attorney General's website for your state, to find your state's laws concerning debt collection.- Caller: Nelson, Watson & [***]
