800-765-5247 was referenced in a letter we got from Equian, PO Box 35367, Dept 98559147, Louisville KY 40232-5367.  It was in reference to a medical claim against Humana for services to my mother-in-law several months ago.  The Humana logo was all over the letter.  The referenced claim may or may not be valid--we just can't confirm it.  The letter said "...we need to know if other insurance should pay for your treatment on mm/dd/2020".  We were asked to either call the number or go to a website of the domain TroverSolutions.com.  However that website does not exist.

My best guess is that this is a debt collector who will start hounding us if I respond.  No thanks.

Whois info on that website indicates that it does exist.  However, going to the page indicates that there is some sort of problem.

By going to the BBB page for Equian, LLC  https://www.bbb.org/us/ky/louisville/profile/ ... c-0402-10000112

    I found this:
    Quote:
Trover Solutions, Inc. is an independent provider of outsourced insurance subrogation and other claims recovery and cost containment services and software to the private healthcare payer and property and casualty industries.  Trover Solutions, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.

In addition to the company’s headquarters in Louisville, KY, Trover Solutions maintains offices in Pittsburgh (PA), Milwaukee (WI), Sherman Oaks (CA) and Tulsa (OK).
My guess is that if it is a DC  they will start hounding regardless of whether you respond or not.  I would send them a certified, return receipt letter telling them that you want more information on that claim and specifying what information you need.  It doesn't seem like the claim is that old so I am wondering why you can't confirm it?

I also got that letter & did call it because they mention my doctor & the date of the procedure! It just asked questions like was this just a health problem, was it an automobile accident that was not my fault, is there a lawsuit against a company etc etc! Sound like they want to make sure they shouldn’t pay for it before they do!

I called. They want to know if they should sue anyone else for your injury/medical procedure. “Did it happen on someone else’s property, was it related to the work you do for someone else, etc? Press 1 for Yes 2 for No. Thank you. You may disregard the letter.”

The questions that I was asked were the exact same, "was it a car accident; did it happen on someone else's property; was it work related; was it this... was it that."  I hung up, will keep a copy of the letter, wrote time and date on the call.  PS-  Humana logo on letter. Date of service: 6 months ago (today is 1/20/2023), and no provider listed, and no specifics about the service provider.  Already blocked the number.  Hope this helps others.  Who really has time for this crap!  Mind Boggling.

They are not a debt collector. I received a letter from them with a case number and a number to call. I had a procedure done back in March and they just wanted to check and see if it was  the result of an automobile accident, workplace injury, or other persons property, etc. it took me about two minutes to finish the call And I didn’t find it annoying at all. When I dialed the number, they identified themselves as Humana
