- M| 1 replyActually this number came up on my cel as 3000. No 1-800 or any other prefix. The automated voice said my credit card had been halted due to strange activity, and after the breep, I should enter the 16 diget number. Yeah right. Never mentioned the name of a card. nada. I called AT&T right the next morning, They didn't act overly concerned. Said they'd never had a complaint about a 3000 number, and it would be best if I called the local PD.

- Dright| 1 replyI received a call with my name and number on caller ID. The caller gave me the 800-800-3000 and said he was Credit Reporting Bureau Experian located in Manhattan. He also called me a d--k h--d and an old lady. The recording was from the famous Rachael to lower interest rates.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- G. Hedges replies to Drighti received the exact same call with my name and number on the caller id. Caller said his name was Paul Jackson (very heavy Indian accent). Would give any info other than the 800#.
- Wendy| 2 repliesI also received a call that showed my own telephone number. They said they do all the billing for Visa and MasterCard. I asked what Visa I had and he named pretty much every credit card, including Discover and Amex, except the type I actually have. Way sketchy. Wondering if it's legal for a company to use your own telephone number?

- April FogaReceived a call and the caller ID had my own phone number on it. they wanted info on my credit cards to lower my rate. When I demanded a call-back number, they gave me 800-800-3000.
- Marvin P.I received a call from an individual with an Indian or East Asian accent named "Brian". Brian said he was informed there was a problem with my credit (there is none) and that his company (unnamed) could assist me. When I asked him how he was made aware of my telephone number and my "problem", he said he was notified by my credit card company...certainly a scam.
I told "Brian" to f**k himself and hung up.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Pete J.| 2 repliesI received a robo call with caller ID of my own name and number. The recorded message said I could save money on my credit card interest rates, and press 9 to talk to an agent, but did not offer an opt-out option. Since I'm on the do not call list I talked to an agent and asked for the name of the company and phone number. She said: 'Credit Services', and the phone number 800-800-3000. I asked her to remove my number from their call list and advised her that I was on the Federal Do Not Call List and they were in violation. The agent didn't seem to have a clue what I was talking about. So after the call I went on-line and filed a complaint with the FTC.

- Bob replies to Pete J.The exact same thing displayed on my caller ID as well - my own botched name and number. Same robo call gimmick and intro. I pressed 9 to talk to an agent and then my inquisition began...
ME: What number is this calling from? I do not appreciate your company using a PROXY to HIDE the number you are calling from.
AGENT: 1-800-800-3000. It is for your own safety and security. Yada yada make sure we got the right person.
ME: My own safety and security?! What is more secure would be you being more honest and revealing where you are calling from.
ME: May I have the agent to whom I am speaking with?
AGENT: Joe Joe Schneider (so believable)
ME: What country of origin are you calling from?
AGENT: Abu Dhabi...
ME: What is the nature of this call?
AGENT: You pressed 9 because you were interested in lowering your credit card interest rate.
ME: Uh huh...nope, I pressed 9 because "Do you even know the name of the person you dialed?"
AGENT: I just have the phone number
ME: I am not interested. Please removed me from your call list.
AGENT: Okay, F*ck you.
How professional...So please be aware, yes this is a scam. I bet they would have probably asked me to give them my personal information, full credit card number, social and so forth. - Cindy replies to Pete J.I had the exact same experience. When I told the guy - also with a heavy Indian accent - that I wanted him to remove my name from their calling list he told me he had no interest in doing that. What a jerk!
- BelleJust got a call that showed up on caller ID as our company name and phone number. The individual said his name was "Tim" and calling from Account Services. I asked for phone number and website and he said his phone number is 800-800-3000 and website is youjizz.com. What an idiot foreigner!

- PierreCalled today from a local number saying that they had an offer to lower my APR i asked what number they called from, they gave me this number. I told them I was googling the number while were talking. I then asked for an address and he hung up.

- todd replies to Wendy| 1 replyJust as legal as the Jehovah's Witnesses coming to your door, trying to hook you!
- BigA replies to toddWendy posted here 2 years ago. It is legal for them to go door to door. It is not legal for them to spoof a number. Big difference.
- Dale HausmannThe initial voice message said that they were calling about my credit card. There was no problem but they wanted to talk to me. I have gone to their unsubscribe options several times and have spoken with representatives asking, telling, demanding, yelling for them to cease and desist. Today I was nicer than normal. They hung up and then I got a call with a very unpleasant set of instructions about what I could do with my request.
