this number keeps calling claiming to be from Windows company. It calls late in the evening and claims that one of the computers we are using is infected with viruses then asks for an ip address to connect to your personal device.
Sounds like a scam to me!

Don't fall for it. If you wanted to get your computer repaired, you call Microsoft or Best Buy to see what you can do. Microsoft will never call you about that because your computer is yours and you do what you want to do with it. Same with Apple. You should have told him your computer is an Apple computer and that would definitely would made feel stupid for even trying to scam you. Then he'd probably make up excuses like saying oh, well it's the same thing. Nope.
